the First Division title seemed a more immediate prospect are still way too

fresh for any such fantasy to be entertained, and as such we have rather enjoyed

the last three seasons, which cannot, in league terms at least, be categorised

as anything other than success. Don't you remember the travelling Dandies

pouring onto the pitch in Inverness to celebrate mere accession to the top six?

Or the carnival atmosphere at Pittodrie in May when third spot was clinched?

Neither is the hallmark of a support which demands nothing less than some

unattainable level of perfection.

What Aberdeen supporters do expect is that you produce the best that can be

extracted from this current squad. To run scared of a side who, within a week,

became the first to not only drop SPL points to Gretna but to fail to put four

past them was to fall well short of that mark, hence the reaction it received.

This, though in vain, was much more like it, other than the glaringly obvious

lack of fitness which saw the entire team hit the wall simultaneously, at around

the point in proceedings where it is normally only Craig Brewster who needs to

be removed before he expires.

Hearts today announced proposals of their new main stand at Tynecastle costing £50 Million. The 10,000 seater stand will increase capacity to 25,000. It will incorporate leisure facilities such as hotels, bars, restaurants and commercial office space

Now that would mean a debt of £80 because lets face it Romanov isn’t going to invest anything. The debt would be crippling!

The thing is Brewster was taken off as he looked tired (well to me) but Miller came on and I think I saw him twice appear on the screen. As Craig Burley said before the game on Setanta "If I was a striker and a 40 year old was starting in front of me, I would be hanging up my boots!"

Brewster was looking a bit tired and could not compete any more I thought.

Excellent first half performance, but the form of the first two games slipped back in for the second half. Was impressed by Brewster once again, has the class our other strikers dont have. As my mate said, if only he was 10 years yonger - 30

OLD BHOY JACKIE IS DOUBTFUL

JACKIE McNAMARA may miss out on the chance to face Celtic for the first time since quitting Parkhead two years ago.

The Aberdeen defender was injured in training yesterday and is doubtful for Sunday's match at Pittodrie.

Boss Jimmy Calderwood, who also has defender Lee Mair and Dutch winger Jeffrey de Visscher sidelined, said: "Jackie got a real clatter in a collision with Zander Diamond and suffered a bit of a dead leg. He was forced to stop training and that's a worry.

"I think he ran into the big man's knee and it was a sore one. It's the last thing we need ahead of the Celtic game.

"It's a match he will want to play in for obvious reasons after his tremendous career at Celtic.

"He's already proving a great addition. He was very good against Dundee United and outstanding against Hearts."
