BigAl Posted June 2, 2023 Report Posted June 2, 2023 So where is everyone heading off to this year. We're currently in Kos and it is chucking it down and stuck in a bar drinking Mythos washed down with Ozuo and not yet midday. Better dry up as away across to Turkey the morn. 1 Quote
Goldie03 Posted June 2, 2023 Report Posted June 2, 2023 Enjoy Al being stuck in a bar isn't too bad I'm going to Florence in June after my youngest daughter's graduation, taking in Pisa & Bologna too Quote
Reekie_Red Posted June 4, 2023 Report Posted June 4, 2023 We have had the wettest summer on record here in NZ. You can see it on people's faces, everyone is just glum and fucked off now that its coming into winter. Not to mention the sheer amount of damage the country has seen from successive cyclones every 2 weeks. So I'm taking my sorry ass to Scotland and Ireland in July in search of a bit of sun Got two weddings to go to at either end of a 1 month holiday, one in Drogheda just outside Dublin, and then one up in Dornoch. Cannae wait to get "hame" 2 Quote

Madbadteacher Posted June 5, 2023 Report Posted June 5, 2023 absolutely no plans. Our school has an "extended school year" so I'm working til July 12th. Quote
manc_don Posted June 6, 2023 Report Posted June 6, 2023 Summer? Months away May try and take the boys to the mountain half-way up the north island this winter though. UK trip and cost of living hammered our savings this year, but hoping my folks are able to come over during the summer. Will be making the most of the in-laws campervan too. Been a weird winter so far, second month in and it's the first proper cold day we've had. Definitely not had the rain that @Reekie_Red has suffered, nor the East Coast this year. Been very bizarre. Must be luring us into a false sense of security. 1 Quote
Panda Posted Saturday at 14:32 Report Posted Saturday at 14:32 Bumping this thread rather than starting a new one. A group of old uni pals are looking to organise a wee reunion holiday next year. We were thinking south of France. Enough for the kids to do, but the adults can get happily pished as well. Open to suggestions if anyone has done similar. Quote

Open to suggestions if anyone has done similar. Got friends in a place called Quillan, south of Carcassonne towards Andorra. Stayed there a few times, brilliant outdoor stuff to do in the area. White water rafting, gorge walking, lots of lake swimming etc around Narbonne. Stayed in Toulouse for a bit too, really nice little city. Also had a holiday near Cannes and St Tropez area, stayed in a small town called Tourettes but I tend not to shout about it too much . Bit posh wanker territory for me that one. Panda Posted Saturday at 23:20 Report Posted Saturday at 23:20 Aye heard good things about Narbonne. Will check it out. Quote
Ajja Posted Saturday at 23:40 Report Posted Saturday at 23:40 We’re keeping it light this summer. Week in Wicklow in early July visiting friends and then a week in Brighton (Hove) house sitting. Gonna do Lake Como in September when it’s a tiny bit cooler. Quote
BigAl Posted 6 hours ago Author Report Posted 6 hours ago 2025 we had city breaks to Budapest then Vienna, a fortnight in Corfu and then a couple of trips following AFC in Athens & Prague No European trips to finance this year, so away in a few days for a fortnight in Malta and then a fortnight in Corfu in late August/September Quote
KGB Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago Did Australia and New Zealand in February/March for our big holiday this year. Fortunate enough to live 6 months of the year in Spain so, health of my parents allowing, we are back there a week on Monday until end of July. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago Heading to the Dominican Republic on the 17th for a few days, staying in Punta Cana at the hard rock, will catch the Morocco game there. The Dominican is cheaper than the Bahamas or Jamaica as far as I know, newer holiday location so not as pricey I think. did a 6 day crusade of the Bahamas/Caribbean/cozumel last year, also good value. Living in Florida these aren’t that far away or expensive, plus they are all inclusive regarding food/meals so no hassle with food etc for the kiddos, very kid friendly holiday. unlikely it’s worth it coming from Britain though given the costs of flights these days, but if you can, certainly worth it.
