  • I'm very glad that I can watch the Dons most weeks and then switch off to all other football (Scotland aside). I do watch the occasional game on the telly (rarely a whole game), mainly the BBC Friday

Am I right in thinking that every single Premiership team has taken something from Pittodrie this season - except Hearts? Had they won at Pittodrie earlier in the season, they'd already be champi

Hope Wales make it against Israel, granted their last game is against Andorra so qualification is pretty much a formality but it would be nice to see them do it with time to spare. Unbelievable that holland lost. They were awful. A team of very good individuals just cannot perform as a team. That being said, you cannot take the credit away from Iceland. They had said at the start of the qualifiers that this was going to be a golden generation of Icelandic football and given their current form, looks like their predictions were correct. A good week for Kari!

Updated 3rd place qualifying table now looks like this (games against bottom teams removed)

1) Albania - P4  GF7    GA 2  Pts 10 (Why they are 3rd when they have a better record than Denmark?)

2) Hungary  -P5  GF5    GA3  Pts10

3) Norway        -P6  GF5    GA8  Pts10

4) Switzerland - P5  GF9    GA4  Pts9

5) Scotland - P5  GF6    GA5  Pts8

6) Netherlands - P6  GF10  GA6  Pts7

7) Russia        - P5  GF7    GA3  Pts7

8 ) Ukraine        - P5  GF3    GA4  Pts6

9) Israel          - P5  GF7    GA11  Pts6

Current Teams in qualifying positions

France, Iceland, Czech Republic, Wales, Belgium, Slovakia, Spain, Poland, Germany, England, Switzerland, Romania, Northern Ireland, Austria, Sweden, Croatia, Italy, Portugal, Denmark, Albania

Denmark have the edge in head to head games. Away goal in 1-1 draw in Tirana.

Iceland are looking really good. The improvements they've made on and off the park are clearly paying dividends. But I'm sorry; the ref ruined that game last night (from a Dutch point of view). De Vrij clearly got a toe on the ball in that last ditch tackle. And I think the boy's reaction to getting a tap in the neck from Martins-Indi got the player sent off. Although as soon as you raise your hand you're giving the ref a decision to make right enough. Had Robben not gotten injured and Martins-Indi stayed on the park it would have been a very different game I think. But they didn't and now Holland have to win their last 2 games. On current form I don't fancy them to do it. The commentary was absolutely woeful again. Just like it was in the 1st game in Reykjavik.  They were absolutely desperate for Iceland to win. Strange given that the results don't affect Engerlund.

Not a good time for the Dutch national team. Got to wonder why RVP didn't get the chance to try and salvage something. Holland were pressing a lot towards the end of the game and a better finisher might have got the reward that they deserved (a point at home to Iceland :( )

Aye, I actually stopped watching because the commentary was that hard to take.  That and I didn't think Holland were going to do it.  Can't say I really disagreed with the red though, very little sympathy with anyone that raises their arm.  Gives any ref and opposition player an excuse, unless you're playing for septic in Scotland.  Have to say, i'm just not convinced by this current dutch squad.  Something isn't clicking.

Well Germans being ruthlessly efficient for once this campaign

Northern Ireland 1-0 up on the might Faroes

Northern Ireland can qualify if they beat Hungray on Monday.

Germany's 3-1 win gives us a glimour of hope but a very slim one.

Updated 3rd place qualifying table now looks like this (games against bottom teams removed)

1) Albania    - P5  GF7    GA 2  Pts 11

2) Hungary        -P6  GF5    GA3  Pts11

3) Norway        -P6  GF5    GA8  Pts10

4) Switzerland  - P5  GF9    GA4  Pts9

6) Netherlands  - P6  GF10  GA6  Pts7

7) Russia          - P5  GF7    GA3  Pts7

5) Ireland          - P5  GF5    GA5  Pts6

8 ) Ukraine        - P5  GF3    GA4  Pts6

9) Israel            - P5  GF7    GA11  Pts6

Upshot is this

Northern Ireland will qualify on Monday if they win at home to Hungary. A draw will guarantee them a playoff spot

Wales will qualify on Sunday if they win at home to Israel. A draw will guarantee them a playoff spot

England will qualify tomorrow if they beat San Marino (Slovenia cant overtake them on the head to head)

and then there is Scotland

Fail to beat the Germans on Monday along with ireland beating Georgia in Dublin and automatic qualification is gone.

To get a playoff spot the following would have to happen

Scotland beat both Poland and Gibralter

Ireland fail to beat the germans

Draw with the Germans along with ireland beating the Georgians and automatic qualification is still possible but the following would have to happen

Scotland beat both Poland and Gibraltar

Ireland fail to beat the germans but beat the polish away from home

Beat the germans and fuck knows what could happen....shergar might do a lap of honour on the back of Lord Lucan?

Errr, Tom, we've already played Ireland twice. Do you mean Gibraltar?

1) Albania    - P5  GF7    GA 2  Pts 11

2) Hungary        -P6  GF5    GA3  Pts11

3) Russia          - P6  GF9    GA3  Pts10

4) Norway        -P6  GF5    GA8  Pts10

5) Ukraine        - P5  GF6    GA5  Pts9

6) Netherlands  - P6  GF10  GA6  Pts7

7) Ireland          - P5  GF5    GA5  Pts6

8) Israel            - P5  GF7    GA11  Pts6

9) Estonia        - P5  GF2    GA5  Pts6

Estonia slipping in ahead of slovenia with 3 games to go although the slovenians have an easier run in. Estonia will surely need to beat them in Maribor on Tuesday to have a chance of staying there.

England the first team to qualify for the finals from the groups (yawn)

1) Croatia          -P7  GF14    GA5  Pts12

2) Albania        - P5  GF7    GA 2  Pts 11

3) Hungary        -P6  GF5    GA3  Pts11

4) Russia          - P6  GF9    GA3  Pts10

5) Ukraine        - P5  GF6    GA5  Pts9

6) Israel            - P5  GF7    GA11  Pts7

7) Ireland          - P5  GF5    GA5  Pts6

8 ) Turkey        - P6  GF7  GA8  Pts6

9) Estonia        - P5  GF2    GA5  Pts6

Wales guaranteed a playoff spot but given their last game is a home match with Andorra I think its safe to say they have qualified outright

Dutch in real trouble of missing out completely after a hammering in Turkey which gives the turks the 'head to head' advantage. Turks still to face iceland (h) and Czechs (A) whilst the dutch have Kazakstand (A) and Czechs (H).

Noregians now guaranteed a playoff spot and have pushed the Croats into 3rd place

Qualified Teams so far

France, England, Czech Republic, Iceland

1) Croatia          -P7  GF14    GA5  Pts12

2) Albania        - P5  GF7    GA 2  Pts 11

Turks must be cursing that last minute equaliser against Latvia as they would be as good as through to play offs without it.

Northern Ireland leaving it late. So long as they can avoid defeat in both their last games they are through.

However anyone ever head of a player receiving 2 yellow cards for 2 separate fouls during one 'advantage'?

Seems thats what happened at Windsor Park tonight.

Bloody Portuguese scoring in the last minute in Albania too.  :hammer:

Caley just scored to go one up against farts. Good play from Christie...

Good on the caly scoring tonight the pink bus shelter will be no happy

2-0 caley and another jambo sent off

2-0 final. Hearts being brought back to earth with a bump. Defender sent off tonight will miss Dons game next week.

Deserved sending off but the ict players reaction to it was pretty disgusting. Good win for Inverness and two defeats on the bounce takes the spring out hertz step quite nicely for next weekend.

Every little helps, just hope we wipe away our swine castle hoodoo!

Leicester were 2-0 down at home to the vile and are about to win 3-2, some comeback after half time!

Mahrez? brilliant player. I've enjoyed watching Leicester since they got promoted, one of the few entertaining sides in the Epl. Ranieri seems like a good bloke too, very charismatic.

yeah that was it. Looked good running at people with the ball, keeps playing like that he won't be there for long

Best league in the world bottling it in Europe again.

Really cant stand Man City

Looked like Luke shaw picked up a shocking injury. Being reported as a "suspected" broken leg. If you'd seen the photos I'm bot sure there's any "suspected" about it!
