Brewdog

... are starting to get on my tits a bit. They are marketed ingeniously, but the guys that run it are out of their depth.

So the most recent moan from the "illustrious" company is about the value of land they are trying to buy. They want to build a hotel, plus an extension to the brewery and got a valuation done on the land. So DM Hall came back and said £5000 an acre, but the shire council have come back and said the price is nearer  £300K. Sounds like a the council are having a laugh, however, it was reported last night that the £5000 quoted was actually the price if it was to be used agriculturally, whereas the £300K per acre price is actually nearer the mark for commercial property. Brewdog went public slating the council saying they are anti business, but instead have really made themselves look extremely stupid.

My point is that the council get criticised a lot and rightly so at times, but it must be hard task having to deal with companies like that. Brewdog constantly want special treatment and i am for once glad the council haven't backed down on it.

Picking up some fairly loose vibes that lead me to think you might not be a fan of them 🤔

Does anyone use any of the clubs "Official Partners" for anything at all?

Quite a list now, but can't say I would use any of them, bar the bus companies if needs must.

I know a boy who only drinks Fierce beer now, because of their link up with the club. I find that kind of sad.

I'll have to seek him out to see if Brewdog is back on his radar for his alcoholic requirements.

Not a lot of Brewdog beers that I like,.....and the timing, with all Bdogs previous bad PR,plus being on a seemingly downward trajectory, does make it an unusual link up...

I wonder if you will be allowed into the concourse for a beer if you've got a ticket for another part of the ground.

Cant remember how much space is behind the actual South Stand structure, but could they not do something similar behind the new screen on the Y,if they got rid of the existing food truck?...and the lower floor of the Main stand,at half time at least?

I see its just Gin and Vodka Brewdog would be supplying,(thereby avoiding their pishy beers)

I'm partial to a Hazey Jane or a Punk IPA.

Ah dae like a Punk IPA, or a 5am Saint ... but dinna like the price! Havin' said that,  some o' ye know, Ah play for a ceilidh band at weddins ... and occasionally hae tae cough up mair for a tin o' Tennants poured intae a plastic glass!!

Last night, Ah paid £6 for a pint o' Tennants .... Ah drank half o' it afore Ah went back on stage, and put the half full glass doon beside ma chair. While playin awa, a steamin drunk lassie came ontae the stage an' kicked ower ma half a beer! ... fuckin' dearest half pint ever!

Back on topic-ish ... Ah was supportive o' Brewdog when they kicked aff, but now regard the founders as a pair o' wankers. ... so Ah dinna drink their 'stuff' (see? on topic! ;) ) onymair ... nuff said.

General ‘Stuff’ thread gone then?

RicoS wasn’t joking in his introduction was he…

hmm

haha kow why’d you move it? Surely it’s quite likely this would be linked to the clubs announcement yesterday?

Surely given the discovery of a Brewdog thread from 2017, all that was required was to move the Brewdog specific posts over to the original one and leave the thread available 🤔

I'm sensing a deepening split in the moderator camp. Exactly the sort of thing that happens when dangerously miscellaneous threads are introduced to a forum. 263 people were killed in 2022 due to forum related violence, of which almost all were down to the lazy categorisation of topics. Forum moderator was the third most dangerous job in the UK that year.

And it wasn’t “brewdog” specific - it was brewdog in relation to AFC? And then the AFC announcement of serving alcohol.

hey it’s you guys forum but it does help explain the lack of posts

Seems like we could have had an "alcohol at football" thread.

Think I'm going to get onto the lads down at Reform to discuss the issue of forum immigrants.

Good.Theyre taking likes from indigenous posters

Me amongst others

Got a problem 😉

Happy for you to PM me about any issues 👍

Actually that applies to any members, new or old, happy to take your questions/feedback

  • 2 months later...

I just read Brewdog and to close their distillery, so the end of the line for the Gins & Alcohol.

Their link up with AFC, for this,  didn't last too long.

Brewdog are up for sale.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of them, it would be a shame to see the loss of a fairly sizeable, non oil related business, from the area.

At some point many years ago they probably could have been considered as a good news story for the NE. But once they went flying past being a “craft” brewer and became a behemoth, and tried to expand too much, the writing was on the wall. Not helped by being set up by a pair of wallopers.

Much better beers available from smaller breweries all over the north of Scotland.

So Brewdog are bust are they?

Don’t think so but losing money, and put up for sale.

Bigger fan of Black Isle in all honesty. Wish we got their stuff here regularly, although in fairness, a fair old trek to NZ.
