Saturday was an oppertunity lost to give the worst Hun team I can recall seeing (and I am old enough to remember the pish Hun teams of the 80s) a right good doing. They were there for the taking but for what ever reason be it poor form or negative tactics we failed to do that. Was left feeling very frustrated on Saturday and a bit disappointed that so many Dons fans now see a negative 0-0 against a weak Hun team as a good result.
Garbage.
Where was Sone?
How many misses did our strikers have?
How many times did Miller have to pick himself off the deck?
Mackie maybe a lot of things but he's certainly never quiet. Yet, where was he?
The Huns turned up, chucked a big net over our players and pinned the corners down, then did very little else.
Walter Smith was pleased with his team's performance for fuck sake! Pleased to come away with a 0-0 draw having bored us all to tears. That to me is negative.
Say what you like about that 'poor' Hun side but they're still double figures away from the rest of the pack.

Losers attitude rife again, rangers were pish - why be happy with 4 points when we should have got 6
"Should have" - on what grounds?
They set up to cancel us out and no matter how much we went for it, we weren't allowed to play.
-
Spat my pint out when they asked JC post match if Langfield was ok.
"Nothing to worry about, not much happening up there".
-
Never realised what a greetin' faced prick Kenny Miller was until that game. Good to see Seve wasn't having none of it, not that he'd actually done much other than knocking the ball out of play away from Miller. Surprised as well that Miller didn't even bother to see if Langfield was ok.
As for the game, I think the Huns set out to cancel us out which I take great respect from. But that's possibly the quietest game against them I've ever witnessed, just no bite to it. Happy enough with the points haul though.
That's 3 games I've seen live over the space of a month, the last two on the box and the Hearts game at Xmas so I consider myself as quite the expert these days.
Re:Foster - it's not so much his passing that I've noticed as being poor, it's his clearances that have upset me. Too often he's chosen to punt the ball up field but these barely make it passed the halfway line meaning teams just keep pressing us. He needs to learn to knock it over the back line into space for the lads with pace to run onto or at least give our lads time to move the line up the park or give them a breather. His 'clearances' are more like a sweeping cross which skims a few heads before someone kills the ball dead and puts it straight back into the mixer.

I heard he tossed Jimmy's salad.
-
Was you locked in the kitchen or chained to the sink that you couldn't have walk through to 'contact' him then and there?
-
Aluko's also a facebook friend. Some people will say that's the only reason he's here though - although nae yerself obviously.
The mods tell you that?
-
Aye, I spotted that, wasn't the case last season or maybe it was BBC games?
Just used to be a pic of an empty pitch.
-
I can't get a receptions coz I'm in Tillty but aye get yourself on Redtv. Fucking surprises me the at anyone moans about the five quid amonth subsribpion.
Don't understand why there's no highlights or half time review from the pundits but just gettin to see the game is magic!

Now I know you're not being serious!
Why was it badly needing looked at? we took through mcnaughton, mackie, diamond, clark, anderson etc etc etc so it couldnt have been that bad before could it?
How long ago was that though?
We've brought fuck all through since other than Bebo and I think that says it all.
How do we know none of the young players arnt good enough to make the step up if we never play any of them?Ok, so you're saying that it's the fans who decide whether they should get a game each week is it? Should this be a voting system like Who Wants To Be A Millionaire where we all get a button to vote once he's on the park?
In the meantime I'll trust the manager to make that call.
-
Are you going to give Billy McNeill credit for the youngsters that Alex Ferguson inherited?
Jimmy and Jimmy got the best out of these guys, but you probably wont be able to see that.
The other side of the coin will be that Jimmy will still get a hard time if AFC slide back into their own habits after he leaves. Yet Ferguson doesn't seem to get blamed for the 15 years of utter dross he left behind him.
100% JMGCASB at straws brigade.

Well if Maguire is the soul representative and the cream of the crop then I'm glad we're not giving anyone else a run out. Have you ever considered that we're getting the youth development into shape because it was badly needing looked at, due to the fact there weren't any of them good enough to make the step up?
I very much doubt what we have sitting on the bench would bring anything to the first team at the moment. Why would any manager let them get a run out if that were the case?
-
Will they even get a chance at afc?
Well I'll list the ones that have made the break through from youth players:
Mackie, McNaughton, Foster, Zander, Considine, Clark, Hart, Anderson.......
And you can list the ones we've let go for one reason or another and have went on to bigger and brighter things:
-
Great to see - finally some movment from the youngsters!
Shame half of them will never get the chance to play for the 1st team despite being better then the likes of foster, mackie etc.
I'm willing to wager that none of that lot will score 50 goals for an SPL first team.

It truly is a disgrace that the most widely played sport in Scotland isn't shown on television nor is it allowed on just about any square of grass without first having to burn down the 'NO BALL GAMES' sign.

Calderwood said: “The crowd was fantastic last week and I reckon it will be even better this weekend. I would expect it to be close to a sellout and it will be a terrific atmosphere.
I really think the club should address this issue. Watching the game on Setanta last week and it sounded like a morgue which I was utterly convinced at the time it wouldn't be.
No doubt the mics were in front of the away fans and other than the scoreline, I never really found myself thinking "It sounds magic at the game, wish I was there!" which I'm sure would tempt a few more armchair fans along.
I'm sure the club could think up some sort of reason for not putting the mics trackside (linesman, ball boys, wheelchair access, fire escape route, etc) and house them nearer the RDS or SS home fans.
-
I get the feeling the club would rather concentrate on the corporate fans for extra revenue.
Cost?
No idea, I never thought they would actually pay for it anyway?
I always just took it as being a hobby rather than making a few quid. Wouldn't have thought that there would have been much overheads other than a few dozen cups of tea and warm pies. They've got to practice somewhere.
How much are Redz n Co. making?

Make the voucher for the ticket for one adult and one child in the Merkland. That'll cut down the chance that it'll be used by someone who normally sits with their mates. Or put the family name on the voucher so the parent has to show proof when they turn up at the gate.
Got to be worth trying something new than nothing at all.
And a huge bugbear of mine........ Why are there no pipe bands at Pittodrie these days? I used to love that shit as a kid!
-
This is shaping up to be a monumental weekend!
-
BB surely this could be done once a month or so? The club would probably make more from merchandise etc? Obviously we can't let kids go in for free every week as it doens't make business sense, but a full Pittodrie is what we all want, and hell the team seems to enjoy it more.
No reason this couldn't be done every outwith every ticket game. We're only talking a bus or mini-bus load of kids/teachers and they'd easily find a seat or section to house that.
Then they could keep an eye out as to how many vouchers they were getting used for repeat games afterwards to see if it's attracting the kids/parents back afterwards.
You can't be losing money on empty seats anyway.
I agree with this, makes a lot of sense and is something the club should consider. Have you e-mailed them your thoughts?Nope.
Feel free to do it on my behalf or claim the glory for yourself. I'm too busy posting muck on other threads.
-
Very true. The problem on the back of that though is that they can't get in for free every week, and the simple truth is that football in this country is ridiculously over priced. So if we're serious about getting them back through the doors on a regular basis with their dads or mums, we have to reduce prices.
Part of the deal could be that they get sent away after the match with a voucher to get in free with a parent next time or half price for the adult.
-
I dunno if this is the case already but the injured players should be out earning their keep by turning up at schools and arranging a free trip with the kids and possibly some parents each home game.
One of the local bus companies could be roped in to help sponsor this by laying on a minibus and the teachers would be the one looking after the kids so it wouldn't take up any resources on a Saturday other than a pre-match tour.
Piece of piss.

I did google your name after that and it threw up some photo website with a couple of photos of someone with the same name as you and I showed one other mod one photo as it was funny - as it looked like a well know user on here who everyone knows. And the 'confrontation' was me seeing you and know that the photos were of you then coming up and saying hello to you in the Marienplatz last year....i know you didnt expect it so sorry for ruining your week in Munich!
Let's not get silly about this.
The point is you should know better.

No, you registered under 'quotes just like shabba' to rip the piss out of ? ? ? then username shabba from your works email.
Half true.
You seem to have missed out the part where yourself and another mod had a pow-wow, went Googling these details, found photographs, distributed them to various other members on the board and then later confronted me on a street corner. All of which I'd been keen not to let happen in the gallery thread many moons ago.
You've also missed out the part where you explain how bicycle accidents and newspaper articles is a way of "making sure you were who you said you were"?
Not that I've got any beef with yourself or any of the mods. Far from it. But if folk choose the options of anonymity that are granted to them on signing up then you should at least honour that.

It's all very exciting isn't it?
It's sort of like a real league for a change.
Until the split it for no real reason and then give half the teams nothing to play for.
