Lovell from what i hear, is a very quiet guy who keeps himself to himself.  He probably is getting singled out for attention because he doesn't go balancing buckets of water over the changing room door on a daily basis.

That reminds me, didn't Calderwood slag him off a few weeks ago and call him a bit odd because he was quiet in the dressing room and didn't go out on the piss to Blu Bar with Diamond and co?

I feel a bit sorry for the guy, whenever he's talked to the press, he's always tried to talk up the club and his relationship with the fans even though he probably doesn't want to be here, regardless what you think of him as a player, he certainly doesn't deserve to be treated like this.

And if I was a footballer reading that article, there's no way in hell I'd want to play for a manager like that.

I wasn't at the match, but watching the highlights on the BBC site, some good work by Lovell put someone through on goal for what should've been a goal, and he used his strength well to get past a physically strong defender and win a penalty which should have been a goal.

Calderwood's comments there are a disgrace.

Presumably because we were losing at the time and the attack had been completely impotent up until that point?  Not that it got any better once he came on mind you, but you can hardly criticise the manager for having Lovell, Smith, Mackie and Maguire all on the pitch in an attempt to get back into the game.

You can certainly criticise him for being responsible for us being out of the game in the first place.

I wasn't expecting to be involved. I have been back running for the past couple of weeks but I have only trained for three days with the rest of the players.

This is why a large amount of our players are never match fit. Jamie Smith was rushed back from injury to play against Copenhagen because we were desperate, and he's played in every game since despite looking like he can hardly stand after 20 minutes.

How long was Calderwood's contract extension? 

Touzani would be a better shout to fill a central midfield slot.

I'm not going as it's 6 weeks before my final exams and I have 4 deadlines in the 2 weeks after the game as well. I was lucky enough to be able to manage Madrid, so I'm not too bothered about it.

Madrid was 4 days before an exam I was due to take 

Luckily they messed up with the paper work and I couldn't sit it, I'd have been fucked otherwise.

He's not had a good run in the team because Calderwood hauls him off whenever he goes 15 minutes without scoring.

A match fit, and match sharp Lovell would be a tremendous asset to the team, but he needs a good long run of games to get to that level.

We'd have one half of the defence that almost got Dundee Utd relegated about 3 seasons in a row in our squad. For an 'ambitious' club, that's not good enough.

I like the look of Gretna's Yantorno, and he'd probably be the cheapest out of the midfielders already mentioned, although Cregg's probably a better shout.

The thing with Nicholson is, he's very much a family man, doesn't go out drinking with the rest of the players, so I'd reckon if he's going to go and play in some backwater in Englandshire for more money, it'll be for his family's sake, not his own. For someone who had no ties to Aberdeen before he came here, you can't really argue with that. And he does seem to be willing to stay if we improve our offer as I doubt he'd want to uproot his family. Seems a shame we can't find another couple of G's to bump his wages up a bit. 

It took a lot of effort for me not to leave at half time yesterday, it was dire stuff. The only thing that keeps me going at the moment is that I always manage to persuade myself to buy a season ticket every summer. There's no way I'd pay £21 to watch that utter garbage on offer.

Too much emphasis is being put on entertainment. Entertainment to me is playing basic football to a good standard, we're not even doing that. We're only getting away with it because most of the teams in the league are just as bad, if not, worse.

One of the worst games I've been to in my life, how we never conceded a goal with one of the worst defensive line ups in the club's history I'll never know.

The SFA should be investigating Rangers for allowing a spokesperson connected to their club say those things about Aberdeen players. That's far more harmful to relations between 2 clubs than one young fringe player having a bit of banter with a mate of his on the internet.

I'm more concerned that Maguire reckons Celtic are the only team in the SPL. If he likes them that much he can fuck off and sit in Celtic Park every week.

That's the problem, Hutton shouldn't have been quiet, he's a hothead on a yellow card, smarting from being made a fool out of, he should have been put under constant pressure, Clark running at him, giving him a bit of chat 'haha I got you back even better and one of your players got sent off'.

Pity he doesn't have more balls, otherwise he wouldn't have hidden from Hutton for the rest of the match.

I did wonder why none of the flags were up. Nae doubt John Morgan pandering to the Huns again or somesuch.
