Will probably have to. JC on Northsound saying that Mulgrew and Severin are injury doubts for Saturday with Zander already out.
How about back 4 of: Duff Mair Considine Foster???
-
pretty sure its the marriot in dyce
Used to be until incidents night before matchday kept them up at night. Now at Ardoe house.
-
Would he be played if fit?
-
NO - Nae this lot...
I miss the hyped up Rangers matches we used to have where the press egged everyone on the put some hate into the fixture.
I even remember Reekie Red being quoted in the Sun for one of his pre-match build ups on Donstalk for calling the huns "the great unwashed". That might even have been before the infamous pitch invasion half 5 kick off game.
Anything you can do to get some venom into this coming Saturday's fixture Reekie?
I'll start the ball rolling - We're only a couple of months off the 20th anniversary of the simmy tackle!
The hatred between Aberdeen and Rangers makes these games far far more enjoyable for me and always look forward to them. Even better now we have upperhand at Pittodrie over them. Pity about Ibrox though but live in hope.
-
Ah ok, thanks, might look into it.
I have contact numbers for both those clubs. If you need them PM me.
-
I'm starting to think that its too much effort just to see Aberdeen play Ayr.
There will definitely be 2 supporters club buses from Aberdeen in Granite City and Gothenburg. AFC might put on one aswell and couple of other clubs may run bus depending on interest.
-
The poster said "7 or 8" so I challenged him to name eight. That's six.
The poster said "feature" and not play!!
-
Um, to rephrase, how do you get there using public transport from Aberdeen?
You get there by train or bus to Glasgow then train or bus from Glasgow to Ayr. But you don't get home same night.
-
Should we try a back 3?
Mulgrew Seve Diamond
?
Think he will go with Diamond Severin and Considine with Mulgrew and Foster wing backs.
-
But who else would get played there?
Mair!!
-
If we play with four at the back, they will tear us apart down our right side, but 3-5-2 should work (he hopes!)
Hope so but never last season. They took us apart until we went for it in 2nd game when we went a goal down with 25 to go and we looked a totally different side.
-
the game will be won and lost by our back line. Minkerwell will go their usual 3 up front and if we can cope with it i would fancy us to at least get a draw. Their defence looked anything but clever on sat so if calderwood moves smith to the middle of the park instead of on the wing i would fancy him to give them a torrid time. Diamond has got to play on sat end of!
Will play all 3 of Diamond, Severin and Considine at back. Usually goes with 3 at the back (really 5) and 1 up front.
-
Now you're just contradicting yourself. You said:
Yesterday you were worried, and today you're not.
Worrying? Absolutely.
Lose sleep over it - nope!!
-
I'd say the odds are firmly against us. Motherwell played well last week, and well, by all accounts we didn't play, but as we've said, here's to optimism eh!
We are capable but just seem to show it a few times a season and our away form is honking as we sit in and try and hit on the break. This will play right into Motherwell's hands. Go and attack them and we have every chance. Sadly i think we wont attack and fear the worst.
-
Well at least he'd have half the supports backing after that Wouldn't surprise me though I must say! I pray to fuck they don't make it a wasted journey on Saturday.
Bad feeling about Saturday but hoping to be surprised.
-
Oh no! You've booed me! How will I get over this humiliating catastrophe.
Did Young, Mackie, Mair or Duff start on Saturday? Diamond didn't because he's recovering from injury, but I repeat he's the only first team mainstay in that team so I won't be losing any sleep that the reserves lost.
Neither will i. This is a discussion forum and was discussing this. Can't see why you are getting your knickers in a twist over it.
-
Would leave the lad on the bench for Saturday. Just restarted training after knee surgery and 6 weeks behind those with full pre-season.
-
Are you seriously telling me that you were counting those who will sit on the bench as "featuring in the first team"?
In which case, what's your point? Diamond aside, they are fringe players. Only Diamond is a first-team mainstay, and this match was about him getting fitness after injury so the score is irrelevant.
Keep your "We're doomed!!" sensationalism for the Hat and the mailing list.
1) What would you call it? Not involved with first team?
2) And who has mentioned we are doomed? Just said bit worrying that 11 first team squad players lost to Inverness youths.
3) If the rest are just fringe players then we have just 12 regulars in total - the 11 from Saturday and Diamond. Young played 35 times last season, Mackie 26 and was injured for large part of season and Mair even managed 24. Duff played exactly half the games after he signed aswell. You think Wright will be just a squad player?
4) I will say what i like. Who are you to tell folk what to say and not to say?
-
Prove what wrong?
Up to this moment in time, Maguire is the only youngster who's been good enough to make the step-up. Not one has left and proved Calderwood wrong. Prove that wrong.
What the fuck you on about?
-
Okay, let's say that (including a couple of cup runs) we play 45 games this season. "More often than not" would mean they start 23 games for us this term.
Name the 8 players from that team that will play 23 games for us this season.
1) Bossu will be on bench every game unless Langfield gets inured.
2-5) Diamond, Duff, Mackie and Young did it last season
6) Wright will undoubtedly feature either from start or from bench every week.
7) Mair will be on bench every week and may play a fair bit too if injuries kick in. He did last season and played 24 games.
8-11) Young lads Smith, Pawlett, Stewart and Crawford all in first team squad and at least 1 will be on the bench each week with U21 rule in effect.
-
That's the last word on the subject then.
Feel free to prove that wrong then. Or just trying to look cool and failing?
-
Zander, Considine, Maguire and Foster have all made the step up under him have they not?
Only Maguire under Calderwood.
