My initial reaction to this was to worry that potentially increasing Maguire's already substantial ego even more seems like a daft move. But on reflection maybe he is one of those players that needs a cuddle and a lot of reassurance to keep the confidence up. I suppose Broon is best placed to make that call.

Kind of odd given the plethora of forwards we have, but I guess if Brown rates him that highly and Blackburn are picking up the tab then fair enough. Mind you, given that game time is already at a premium for the likes of Magennis, Megginson and Paton, it's hard to see them developing and having much of a future.

Asked a Cardiff-supporting acquaintance - one of the most cynical chaps going - what he thought:
I always liked Capaldi. He's not a flair full back, but he was always fairly consistent. Much better defensively than offensively. He probably won't tearing down the wing much anymore at 29, but I think the majority of City fans would take him back right now given how utterly shit Naylor has been.Could easily do a good job in the SPL. His crossing was never up to much though.

Aye, he'd a pretty ropey looking tumble recently.

Aye, no doubt today turned out to be super-frustrating in the end, but 7 from 9 is a fantastic return. If we win our next league game Broon'll have gained the same number of points for us this season as McGhee did, christ.

Horrible stuff.
On a more positive note, BBC reckons we've had 62% possession so far. I can't remember seeing a stat like that for a long time.

Pretty dreadful news.

No broom cupboard picture yet?

...Aberdeen skipper?

Goal was really nice. Did look a horror of a game otherwise, though.

Yet another one joining after the Chat disappeared. Kenny from Glasgow. Don't often get along to games these days, with the exception of the likes of Hamilton and St Mirren and such away. My first Dons game was a 4-0 win over St Mirren at Love Street in 1990, Jess and Gillhaus scored. I think I might know a few folk here from the GUASC circa 2000-02.

Great stuff. Glad Magennis managed to sneak one. Well done Broon and team!
