  1. Hopefully he will get more match time, but I'm also hoping that this doesn't give him delusions of grandeur and think that it's time to leave the dons for he would perceive as greater heights, but in reality not getting a game every week in some 1st division english club and then disappearing into the ether

  2. He had a bad landing after jumping in the air to head the ball.  It was difficult to tell from where I was sitting whether it was his knee or his ankle he'd done but goin by the match photo on the afc website shows his knee all wrapped up with ice blocks or something.  Sounds like he'll be out for a while  :hammer:

  3. Assume it was made worse by him coming back on for a few minutes?

Radio also saying he may have scored the first.

yeah from where I was sitting I didn't think he should have played on after the injury.  He was clearly struggling.  :hammer:

  4. Might be an idea to approach Conoco and see if they will move their naming rights to the North East of Scotland since the New Grimsby town stadium is basically dead.

I think since they became ConocoPhillips their policy of associating themselves with sporting clubs etc has changed somewhat - ie the answer would be "no".  Good idea in principal though.  :hammer:

  5. Brown has said what we are all thinking.  It's refreshing to hear a manager admit the weak spots in the team and hold his hands up saying he doesn't have an immediate answer.  I just hope that the players can pull themselves together for tonight and get us through to the next round of the cup.  They need to concentrate and play for the shirt for the FULL 90 minutes and not just when they feel like it.

  6. Did anyone get the News of the World on Sunday.  Clean forgot about it.  Was it worth getting the paper for if you'd actually been at the roadshow on the Thursday evening?  Just trying to work out whether to see if anyone at work still has a copy of the paper or if it's not worth the bother

    :hammer:

  7. The staff here are getting it added to their public holiday allocation and can take it when they choose, but us scabby contractors have to use a days annual leave if we wanna have the day off  . . . . . . .  :hammer:

  8. Indeed.

Unless we beat the Huns at home.

Speaking of which, any idea when that fixture is going to be played.  Was Sat 19th first, then changed to Sun 20th and now it's marked on Red Web as postponed?

  9. Just read Stephen Fry's latest autobiography and On Fire With Fergie while on holiday.

Stephen Fry's book was certainly interesting, charting his life from finishing school to the start of Blackadder. Certainly lived an interesting life and although and bit pompous and pretentious at times (which he fully acknowledges) quite an engaging and interesting story.

On Fire was great, and imagine would spark some treasured memories for those just a little older than me who were about to watch the rise of afc through the late 70s and early 80s. Loved the complete contempt the kid had for United and Hearts and articulated as well as anything why Dandies the world over hate the Huns (and who would have believed the book stops short of 1988 and that tackle).  Certainly got me in the mood for this weeks Cup Semifinal

Have got "On Fire With Fergie" on my pile of "to be read" books at home, so after what you've said in this post, I'll be getting fired into it ASAP (and yes that was a deliberate pun)

  10. Yip, I would go with nailbiting and tachycardic!!  Maguire could have scored another 2 or 3 for us.  Langfield had a couple of good saves to make else it could have been a different game entirely.

We certainly did make it a whole lot more difficult for ourselves than it needed to be with silly mistakes and the usual guff that they come away with when they're not concentrating but the crowd (all 7K of us!) were really behind the team and I think that helped.

I'm surprised one of their players, Imrie I think it was didn't get himself booked. A right moody gobby cunt he is!
