Just finished 'the black album' by Hanif Kureishi, becoming more and more relevant each day that passes.
also 'not fade away' by jim dodge which is a rather bizarre but excellent book about travelling around america

what game were you watching min? Kerr was tremendous as was mcdonald. Completely solid at the back, bossed the middle and in the second out passed their midfield. Mcdonald was box to box again for the full 90 mins. Not much going in the way of spark or killer pass granted but dominated the last 2 &1/2 games.
Worse player was jamie smith, mainly because he was deployed in the wrong position - still worked his ass off the whole game though.
-
considine for me, mair a close second. Mackie was good but just something slightly lacking. Thought there were many candidates for this one, kerr and mcdonald were superb and one of the reasons we looked very solid at the back. Would give smith a chance at right wing and get a left winger in and we might see a decent forward line as well.

nas and green lantern - the nigger tape

drab, routine, never looked in any danger, i didn't feel at any stage the result was in doubt, a little bit frustrated we didn't score more but hey ho.
Loved the ground though

i was going to jump on the mulgrew bandwagon, cause they guy was class, but for the full 90 mins mcdonald was excellent. passing, forward runs excellent, a few times simply tracking back out pacing his opposite number he snuffed out attcks before they got going. While nothing fancy he was a pretty complete box to box midfielder. Stronger and faster than seve.

i thought lee miller was superb again, he has dominated just about every centre half in the league. i think with a decent partner we would score bucketloads. I think scotland would benefit from him greatly with someone like boyd or faddy playing off him.
Mulgrew was also top draw, and i also thought seve & considine were solid much like the previous week.

TLSP are great, need to listen to that version of the album, also that tune by those two is good aswell.
Smooth you a fan of Little man tate? you seem to like a few bands similar to them.
Wasn't overy impressed with the first album, a little cheesy but Man, i hate your band is a good pop tune. will give the second album a listen through anyway

it was indeed my team. our top scorer was our 13yr old cousin. win was nothing to do with luck, we conceded 1 goal the entire tournament. Not bad considering only the wee man plays for a team and the last football 4 of us layed was in last yrs tournie.
Andy i watched you guys play and you were very lucky we didn't play you!!!
Watched the Globes go out on pens, chimp did well in goals but mizer had an absolute stinker of a pen.

For me it has been a season of complete inconsistency brought about by numerous reasons. Firstly having a squad as thin as we do was never gonna be conductive to a european campaign of any length. Same for two cup runs. We might have been screaming out for this last season (in fact i remember the same discussion about how last season was crap cause we had no decent cup runs) but ultimately i think this is what cost us in the 3 vital games (vs UTD, QOS and Well on Sat). Win these 3 games no question this season would have been regarded as one of the best since the early 80's.
While questions can be pointed at JC's tactics - i think thre majority has been enforced - 17 different centre half combo's is not just him, it's injuries , considine forgetting he was a defender, foster believing the hype, an good internationalist become glass (who would have thought J Mac would have been that pish?)
Despite these inconsistencies and having just read what i've written - where do we actually go from here?

in Aberdeen Football Club
Posted
Smith's injury does however mean that aluko can slot in and jimmy doesn't have to drop jamie for derek young. That would be embarrassing
