  1. My wife looked a bit puzzled when I saw the headline last night and said, "Oh cool, Tony Curtis has died"

I got a bit excited last week when Jimmy carter was taken into hospital, turned out to be nothing too serious.  Still plenty of time though.

  2. This was always one of my gripes about Chic Mclelland.  Lads who were small at 13 or 14 were often let go.  I remember hearing from a mate who was part of the youth coaching set up that Chic used to use the youngsters parents as a guide to how big they're likely to get.  If you were small at 14 and you're folks were 5ft 7 or less then you'd pretty much had it.

  3. So did any non-student chance using a student ticket at the weekend?

I went along with my kids, we had to go through a designated "U12, concession and all other tickets" turnstile.  The light went green for them all, no red lights, no flashing lights, no difference from the adult ticket to the U12 ticket.

Looks like all the cheapskates that have been paying student/u12 prices when they should have paid full price are in for an embarassing situation when they try to enter the ground...

it's incredible that they've only just introduced this.  I know some guys who bought a mixture of adult & concession cards then shared the costs evenly, they've been doing this for years.  When I was offered an under 12's ticket for a midweek game I never took it as I was sure the lights would flash differently, or the stewards would have some way of telling that I was using the wrong card.  Only 7 or so years too late.

  5. such a true statement by redordead regarding getting kids into supporting the club.  How many times before have we heard "'cos I was bought their kit when I was a kid" when asked why they supported a particular team?

Another business blunder by AFC contracting out their club shop and restricting who can and cannot sell our kits.  By trying to get a bigger share of the revenue for every kit sold they've ended up worse off by selling less kits and losing out on potential fans.

  6. It is ok if they are private and just friends with their friends and not everyone that tries to add them.

I've added Sone so he does accept anyone who asks, he has almost 3000 friends. Maybe he sees if you're a Dons fan though, doubt he would add anyone with another clubs badge for their profile pic.  His girlfriend is very tidy although gives the impression of being a bit of an airhead.

  7. Why would MM do that when he is continuely saying in the papers that he knew the financial constraints that would be in place when he took the job? He must have thought that he could do a job with the funding when he took the job.

Also, do Motherwell have a bigger budget than us?  If he manged to build a half decent squad there why can't he do that here?

  8. Totally agree with Mark Perry and felt the same about Irvine in his early days, although warmed to him around 94/95, but for me the biggest disappointment was hearing Joe Miller's name announced.  He scored a cracker against Kilmarnock from 20 yards once but apart from that did absolutely fuck all during his entire second spell with us.

  9.

Are there still any issues with saving high scores?

can you check the arcade Reekie, scores aren't saving again - well they aren't for me.

edit:  should've mentioned it was Ponx & Otello.
