Ha ha it was more in reference to Reidzer estimation of a million (no deal). Suppose we could let him go for 4...although I'd argue he plays a big part between finishing 2nd and 4th - which is not an option - so i'd rather keep him.

2nd gives us £500k or so more in league prize money and takes us into Europe which gives us about £2m in TV, gates etc (going by the last couple of European jaunts). Any less than £2.5m is selling us short.

We'd be able to get a couple of good players with £2m in the bank, I'd settle for that and look to take Henderson from Celtic and O'Halloran from sevco with the money.

When there is a problem, it needs to be identified and acknowledged to exist before it can be addressed.

 

Since the problem happens to be "the establishment", the established way of things then it will be invisible to you.

Forget the personality and his attempted opportunism. Acknowledge the problem. The biggest problem at AFC.

The 'problem' has been fabricated to serve an agenda.

As an example, the club thanked all those that took part in the display the evening before the game and again the following week through a public acknowledgment. What more do they want? A private call to each of them from the entire board and a dinner thrown in their honor? Perhaps an ad in both the local papers as well, just for good measure.

There has been no approach from AFC to other clubs to stop displays, only to advise on issues some that assist in the displays create within the stands. These people forget that they represent the club when they go to away games and do these things, its up to them to behave in a way that respects that. 

Heavy handed stewards - The only time I've seen any stewards approaching the singing section is when one of the little superfans ventures out of their corner to abuse other fans for not singing. The stewards take them to the side, tell them to wise up and send them on their way.

Fans matchday experience - Being shouted at by little superfans to sing, wave shit, stand up, sit down, do whatever it is they decide does not add to my matchday experience in a good or positive way. It may give them some sense of achievement in the pub at 5.00pm but it does nothing to add to my enjoyment and I know plenty that feel and think the same.

There is no void, there is only a small group that believe they have an entitlement to be treated in a special way and when they dont get that special treatment they throw the collective rattle and this is the result.

The club is far from perfect when it comes to its communications but its also not the shambles the ultras/singing section are trying to make out.

With the exception of Considong i don't think losing them all would be a big blow as in the cold light of day i'd say Jack, McGinn, Taylor and Pawlett are all more likely to have an off day than a good one. I'd maybe cut Taylor a bit of slack there but the other three are anonymous most of the time.

 

Plus, there's a real staleness about the first team squad, time for these guys to move on and for some new meat to come in that we can get stuck into.

I'm in 2 minds with McGinn.

He has arguably been our most valuable player for the last few seasons, top goal scorer in his first and most assists in his 2nd and 3rd (I think) but then he's been flat this season, low on goals, assists and effort. That might be down to the lack of break or he may have given himself ideas above his station when at the WC. Cant be easy seeing Josh Magennis getting a big move (in money terms) when you've played alongside him at both levels and know you're 10 times the player he is.

Taylor is a bomb scare, as is Reynolds. I'd let Taylor go and pump Reynolds so a new defense could be built around O'Connor and Shinnie with Considine as a solid back up.

People slate Jack, I think he's a good player. Doesnt quite fit in with the system we play but then thats down to McInnes rather than Jack.

We need a new defender, a new midfielder, a winger/creative forward and when Maddison goes home we'll need someone for the space behind the striker. The only way to get a good standard in all those positions is to let go of all 4 of the first team regulars or 3 and move at least 1 on that doesnt have his contract running out.

I noticed the red top toilet rolls yesterday were jumping on the 'players out of contract'  story.

I think we'll see a big turnaround in first team regular players at the end of this season, bigger than we've had in a while.

Taylor, Jack and probably McGinn will leave either through choice or through a piss poor contract being offered, they'll end up in ED1.

Pawlett will be let go and Considine will stay.

Looking at the list of those in the SPL that are also out of contract I see no one that stands out as a player I'd want. Looks like we'll be scouring the lower leagues on Englandshire for more O'Connor types (hopefully!)

I think the main issue is coming from the attitude our team has shown towards Celtic and the rangers. THe way the team was set out for all gmes against them this season almost admits defeat before kick off and with that the attitude of the fans has changed as well.

Before when we played Celtic, last season at Pittodrie stands out, we went at them, attacked and were set up to attack. This season we havent turned up ahgainst them and we gave the rangers far too much respect and stood off them both home and away - not good enough in my opinion.

If we'd turned up for the final and we'd attacked the rangers at home and dowen there we wouldnt be having this conversation.

Thats down to McInnes and his tactics.

That attitude is also then seen throughout the team. When our players thought we were out to properly challenge they looked a lot better that they do this season aiming for 3rd.

I'm not ready to stop smoking but I  can no longer justify spending £80 a week on killing myself. This vaping shit though almost hits the spot when you need a smoke and right now I'm looking at it more as a brand change than a packing it in.

I've now been off the cigs for 3 weeks and only vaping. Upsides, saving a shitload of cash, breathing is a lot easier, food tastes like food again and I can smell things. Down side, I'm farting like a trooper and because I can smell better I'm now finding the smell of my own farts a bit too much - some of those fuckers could feed you.

Anyone else into this? I'm trying to find the best mods etc but the advice out there is pretty varied and looks more about sponsors selling their wares than actually giving people the low down.

We have 5 first team players going out of contract at the end of this season. Jack, McGinn, Taylor, Considine and Pawlett.

Who do you keep, who do you bin and who do you take in to replace if we do let them go.

I'd keep Jack and Considine, possibly McGinn depending on whether or not he can shake off this lethargy he's surrounded by at the moment. Taylor and Pawlett can go, Taylor scares me, Pawlett just hasnt cut it.

I have to deal with people I don't like everyday in my work. I do it professionally and give them respect and as much as leeway as is needed for them to do their job because ultimately it's how my business makes money. If Mezz is a dick, then they can take the higher ground and pander to his dickishness, which would be relatively harmless no matter the scale of said dickishness. It's about understanding when to let things go, and in the field of display-setting-up, there is very little that shouldn't be let go - unless you're an uber-cunt who wants to wank over your own perceived relevance and authority. Just let Mezz get on with it and be the better person/club and help him because whatever you think of displays in general (I couldn't really give a fuck) they are pretty impressive and well organised. I suspect young kids seeing them think it's pretty cool too and good to be a part of, as do the club who use them on all their marketing about being "part of the dons family" and all that wanker shite.
