  1. Was saying this on a Facebook discussion earlier, I remember it, he did a challenge on one if not 2 Aberdeen players a minute or so before, nothing was given, and I think Simmie was thinking next hun that comes near me with the ball is getting it.

    It will be considered crass in some quarters to evoke truth or at least not ignore truth during a period of grieving - and I'm hurting big time tonight - but here's something younger people won't know;

Durrant was one of the most promising footballers Scotland had ever produced. His career was ended by that Neil Simpson assault. But it was Neale Cooper who inspired the assault through his sheer determination to win.

It was a determination that was pre-existing in his psyche but a will to win that his manager, SAF, didn't just recognise, but used to great effect.

Cooper was real. He gave his all on the pitch. He was programmed to fight and win and was so physically committed, he won more than he lost. They don't make them like that any more. RIP Nealie. Just a fantastic footballer and a perfect attitude in combat. We lost one of our best ever tonight. Love and respect.

  2. Great move if true.  Great lifestyle, good facilities and fantastic cities.  You are also playing against good players.

The Championship and League 1 in England you can become lost - its so easy to go down their and be forgotten and get loaned out to League 1, League 2 club as stakes are so high.

USA offers a lot if you are successful.

So, to be honest its a risk wherever he goes.

Very Different to Scottish game. Fly to every game, Playing in different time zones, some extreme weather conditions, playing at altitude in some cities. Can be away from home for a week if they have a game on the West Coast during the week then another West Coast game at the weekend. A Number of teams have artificial grass fields. If he comes here thinking it is easy money then he is set up to fail .

I remember talking to Jamie Smith when he played for Colorado and he said you don't get to see much of the cities, Mostly see Airports and Hotels. Most MLS stadiums are on the outskirts of the City.

  3. 1 win in 7 against the Glasgow bigots. 3 goals for 16 against. Simply not good enough. As a club we are still shit scared of them.

Said much the same in my Facebook rant yesterday:

Still raging. Yes it's been a good season, yes we have played some great football but look at the stats. 3 points against Rangers and Celtic out of a possible 18 (and those 3 points could have gone either way that day) is a disgrace. Ok Celtic have been on a different level but we seem to let both these teams change our game plan. This is why we are not serious challengers. A very poor Rangers team have now beaten us twice, we NEED to stop letting the name scare us. #rangersdied Rant over!!!!

  4. Jaysus...............I'd hate to be an Atlanta fan this morning.

    Yip, they Hibs'd it.

Watched the whole game, first time I have ever watched a whole game, just because I had squares I bought at work, won $50 on the score at the end of the 4th quarter. Of course I was supporting Atlanta, play and Red and White and I could not support a team called England.

  5. I thoroughly enjoyed T2. Having not seen the 1st one since the 90s I didn't have it fresh in my mind but I don't remember it being anywhere near as good as the 2nd one? I may need to re-watch admittedly. I thought the glimpses back to the 1st one were well done. I liked all the characters but the way Spud and Begbie are does make them stand out more.

Begbie's son looked like Craig Gordon and Kevin Bridges had a kid together.

I didn't realise that Diane was also Margaret from Boardwalk Empire!

I watched the original last week and thought it was better and funnier than I remember, (been like 10 years since I last watched it). Not seen the second one yet, not out here until March

  6. First semi final USA 0 - 4 Argentina, in no way a flattering scoreline, Argentina wee just so much better

Did you hear the media conference? Someone asked Jurgen how long it would be before the USA were on the same level as Argentina

  7. A bit late but what about Suarez thinking he could come on as a sub and then finding out he had been listed as out injured on the team sheet, Punches the dug out and throws his boots on the pitch

  8. Heard a good interview with him about it on the BBC sportsound podcast.

It's great people are now talking about this.  I have found out so many people I know suffer from this that I had no idea about.

  9. You are correct I got on in Torry with Norman, I would have been late teens when I started going on the bus. My parents were on the same bus also.

You may have been on the same bus as me then. I remember being on Jean's bus (based out of Bridge of Don I think?) and I remember Norman getting on at Wellington Road. I was just a kid but he and my Mum would speak. I remember we saw him one year at the annual switching on of the Christmas lights in toon and he was helping locate my lost sibling. He never gave much away but he was clearly a downright pleasant mannie.

He spent a lot of time just walking around. He must have been lonely I think. I remember having a meal with my Mrs in Union Square and during the course of the meal he walked past several times always in the same direction.

Agree with Rocket that the sock tribute is a must. RIP in peace Norman.  :(

  10. Unbelievable example of his technical genius: -

He could play almost every musical instrument.

As he demonstrated here, he was an incredibly gifted guitarist.

    WOW Amazing

  11. Very sad.  What was the cause of death? I'm sure I saw him on Union Street only a few days ago.

Didn't he get mugged or something a few years ago?  I seem to recall this.

I found out on the Torry Facebook page, one of his carers posted the news.

He lived in the flats at the bottom of Balnagask Road just up from Halfords for years. He got on the supporters bus with us on wellington road in the 90's. I think he moved into assisted living after he was assaulted a few years back.

He would talk to us on the bus, but mainly about the Dons, never really went into his private life. He did have at least one sister, she was mentioned in the paper.
