Can somebody just explain to me a little better why if we make Europa League/Europa Conference League Group Stages does it guarantee us five to six million in the bank??

Surely you really need to make knockout stages for it to be truly lucrative?

 

I seem to remember when we reached UEFA Cup Last 32 against Bayern Munich 2008 and the overall revenue supposedly made was in the region of around two million so not sure how we'd make double that and more next season without a degree of success in either competition?

Getting to the group stages of the CL gets you about 2.5 mill and Europa about 3 from TV.  Also, that's 4 guaranteed home games that are most likely going to be cat a sell outs and that will be worth around 2-2.5 million to the club.  Once costs are taken out I would say the value to the club of group stage football would be 4-4.5 Mill.  You also get money for drawing and winning games. The money is better in the Europa league but not by that much, I think I would actually prefer going into the conference as we would have a far better chance at qualifying from the group. 

Hearts estimate they made £5-6m last year, which is where that fabled figure comes from.

Three home sell outs - including hospitality - and share of TV income to add on to it.
