I've never had a great desire to have a Tattoo myself and just don't understand the fascination with them generally speaking.  Discuss.

Pish. They're like beards in that they're an arbitrary fashion accessory particular to the times.

 

For example, it was all thon jaggedy edge black shite on the shoulder and tit about a decade or so ago, then it moved to that colourful flowery full arm pish of more recentness. Thon 80s tattoos were distinctive as were the birds' lower back ones of the late 90s. All massively regrettable as the owners find themselves locked into a particular time period forever I'm sure.

Depends.  I got one on my back I kinda regret now but given it's only on show when I want it to be meh.  I've got another on my arm which I adore, smile every time I look at it.

 

Re beards, I also have one of those but it's primarily because I fucking hate shaving.  That it makes me look ruggedly handsome is just a very fortunate by product.

If they're done well then why not. But a lot of the fucking time they're not done well! And then they look fucking awful.

I have seven in total, don't regret any of them. They have personal meaning to me, some are like a family tree type, when my daughter was born it changed me completely, used to be a cunt, and a trouble making one at that, but it all changed when I had responsibility, so I had an impulse to get a tattoo. Also, I was pretty young so if I ever do regret them years down the line, that'll be my excuse!
