So another big game in a busy week for us. Haven't faired particularly well against them in recent times. If we play sensibly, we should have enough attacking flair to overcome them, especially at home. Hopefully the result on the weekend has really given them the confidence they clearly needed. Still really worried about our defence, Taylor was fortunate a couple of times on the weekend and a team like St. Johnstone will punish you for faffing about on the half way line. Game it live on Bt sport

St J seem to have our number with them giving us a couple of doings last season. Would like to see us go with 2 up front in this but can see the manager opting for extra body in midfield. Need the team to put in a performance as the way we went out of both cups last season still annoys me now. Another performance like the ones against Hearts and Hibs last season and you have to question the will to win at the club.

Cagey as fuck, but we got there in the end. Sporadic bits of decent play, without any end product and then another cross from a weak foot and a lovely header that epitomises Rooney as a player. Class.

No real stand outs, Shinnie, Madison and Burns in spells. Pawlett brought something extra when he came on too. Great save from Lewis from the freekick, with Taylor's follow up clearance seeming to take about 45 minutes to execute.

Had to laugh when Taylor kicked the ball sideways off the roof of the mainer in the first half, it was hilarious.

Good result if not performance last night. Hopefully the injury to Hayes is not serious as we do not look effective without him. Great draw for the semi final. Hopefully they play if at Easter Road or Tynecastle as not going to be anywhere near filling Hampden.

Not fussed where it is though the Edinburgh clubs would make for a nice cauldron of noise.  Fuck knows though, hopefully be able to make it up for the semi-final wherever it is.

Maddison really is a joy to watch.  Clearly there is room for development but I think someone else mentioned either here or on twitter, touches of Jess about him. I would love it if McInnes managed to extend his loan beyond January, he could make all the difference.
