Developing Our Youth Squad

It's been noticeable just how much we're now looking at adding depth and quality to our youth side.

 

We've got the Man City youth Joe Nuttall on trial now but we've obviously added the loon from Germany, Culjak as well as Cem Felek too, and we've had numerous other guys in from bigger clubs in the last year as well.

 

Obviously, it remains to be seen if this approach will pay off but it is good to see the net being cast far and wide.

It certainly seems that way. Rather than simply bringing through local kids, we're looking at teenagers from all of Europe. There's obviously a long way to go before we see if this approach bears any fruit, but you can see from the development squad that it seems to be in very good hands.

 

Even as an afterthought, having a more cosmopolitan squad has to have additional benefits, as players hopefully learn good habits from players brought up outside Scotland.

Definitely a further step in the right direction and shows the ambitions of the club.  Tubilay, you just beat me to it with your last sentence.  This can only be a good thing for development of our home grown players.
