THE Dons have gone hairy in a bid to raise funds for the Archie Foundation charity.

Skipper Russell Anderson, Mark Reynolds, Scott Vernon and Clark Robertson are among those now sporting full beards.

Some of the club’s backroom staff have also stopped shaving their facial hair to back the Beards for Bairns campaign.

They began growing their beards on Christmas Day and won’t shave again until January 25.

Dons spokesman Dave Macdermid said: “The players taking part have been getting a wee bit of stick, but it’s all in a good cause.”

Scottish Premiership rivals Inverness Caley Thistle are also backing the Beards for Bairns campaign.

Macdermid added: “Some of the players might be looking like cavemen by the time we play Caley at Pittodrie on January 18.”
