Aberdeen v Hibs

Recommended Posts

Craig Brown has made three changes to the side today.

Russell Anderson picked up an injury in training and is replaced by Isaac Osbourne in defence. Rob Milsom also comes in for his first start of the season as Scott Vernon drops to the bench and Peter Pawlett is back from his loan spell at St Johnstone and comes straight back into the side in place of Cammy Smith who also drops to the bench.

Team: Langfield, Robertson, Rae, Milsom, McGinn, Hayes, Pawlett, Osbourne, Hughes, Reynolds, Shaughnessy

Subs: Brown, Vernon, Low, Fallon, Magennis, Masson, Smith

I think we should start getting much more worried about attendances. About ten years ago it was almost unthinkable to get less than 10k for an SPL match. Even midweek games against lower league opposition was still getting 8/9k and I remember thinking that that was really quite embarrassing. Where have all these people gone and are they ever going to come back?

I also think Aberdeen probably have the worst ratio of people who'd say they are aberdeen fans to the amount of people who turn up to games.

Loads of possession today but no cutting edge. Plenty times got the ball into good positions only for the support to be to late arriving. Thought McGinn took penalty like a player lacking confidence which is odd for a player who is scoring for fun. Thought Pawlett was decent along with Osbourne and Milsom. Not sure how we address lack of cutting edge. Maybe playing more than one striker up front might help.

If that's how we're playing regularly, it's no wonder the crowd was so poor.  It was incredibly frustrating to watch, especially since we seemed to have no urgency whatsever!  God knows why they don't know how to shoot though. ARGH!  :hammer:

As a further note, why did CB wait so long to bring on the subs?  IMO, Magennis should have been on far earlier as their back line was quite obviously woeful!

Good to see Milsom back though.

Milsom was very good, as was Rae. Good to see Pawlett back, hopefully he'll get a run in the side now. Ozzy is a star, we're a much better team when he's fit without a doubt.

Hibs are shite, we might as well give the rest of the season a miss if they beat us next week.

There was a decent milf in the South stand.

That's all.
