ABERDEEN FC defender Joe Shaughnessy, 20, today became the latest rising Pittodrie star to sign a new deal.

The Irish centre-back, who was out of contract at the end of the season, is now tied to Pittodrie until summer 2015.

Aberdeen FC boss Craig Brown said: “Joe has signed a new deal for two years which is great.

“He has done very well in the games he has started in recent weeks. I expect him to really push on.”

Good signing. Strong, solid player who I think will come on leaps and bounds if managed correctly.

What a title.

It must be true then.  (see Ryan Fraser's love for the Dons)

At least one honest loon in the squad then ;)

Aye, that's a boost. Has impressed me since he broke into the team. Hopefully he will be a first team regular for years to come.
