GETTING SHIRTY: Former Aberdeen FC star Neil Simpson.

NEIL Simpson today put the record straight about his nickname.

Aberdeen FC legend Neil claimed he’s always been baffled to see himself described as Simmie.

Neil, who will be honoured next week when Manchester United play Aberdeen FC in his benefit match at Pittodrie, prefers the shorter version of Simmy.

My mate Simmie goes by Simmie and not Simmy. I guess it's personal preference but I prefer Simmie. So I can no longer attend the Man Utd game.
