I was going to post that we should only take it if it doesn't disrupt our pre-season, but seeing how shambolic are pre-seasons are anyway I don't suppose it will be much of an issue.

Good bit of cash I suppose with TV and a sellout, even after Real's big pay cheque

Nah. Real will mop that cash up by themselves. Their appearance fees are even bigger than Barca's, as far as I know. Still, would help remind people in Aberdeen that there is actually a football club in the city that they can go and see.

That will only be true Reekie if the Pittodrie marketing machine gets thier finger out and actuall lets folk know this event will be happening!! ::)

If AFC have got to guarantee a certain level of pay day for Real, then we'll probably say no to the prospect of a pre season friendly on account of being frightened that the Aberdeen public don't turn out in numbers. Is this not what happened with Ajax this July  ???

Nae sure, but surely if Dundee Utd can pull a friendly of this size off, then as a "bigger" club, we can as well?  Thier ovrall profile was lifted by the papers as a result.

I'm pretty sure this was why Falkirk got a friendly against Ajax..... cause our leaders wouldn't guarantee a llevel of income for them.
