A man my Dad thought very highly of and who he had the pleasure of sitting beside at a Dons v Hibs match a couple of seasons ago.

Very sad news, my thoughts are with his family and close friends.

 

Was good to hear Hibs v Aberdeen game is now a tribute to him. Well done to Hibs for reducing ticket prices.

IIRC Turnbull was the man who had the guts to rip apart the Aberdeen squad he inherited from Tommy Pearson, including a number of "club stalwards" who claimed he was making the gravest mistake of his career by ditching so many household Dons names.

 

Incidentally, the cup final in 1970 that saw Turnbull's Aberdeen team lift the trophy had a whopping attendance of 108,434.
