DEREK Young was today challenged to prove he’s up to filling Aberdeen FC skipper Paul Hartley’s boots during the most crucial part of the season.

A knee injury has ruled Hartley out of Aberdeen FC’s remaining four SPL matches before the split.

But Aberdeen boss Craig Brown believes Young, who has never been the most popular player with some of the fans, can fill the void created by the absence of their most influential player.

Doesn't actually say he's going to be handed the captaincy other than in the headline, so not convinced this will be happening.

Would like to see it go to Milsom, would be an indication of how highly he's thought of and hopefully that'd go some way to helping him sign a new contract with us.

Yup, Milsom for me too.

Never thought I would see the day a player as poor as Dung was captain of Aberdeen.

Paul Sheerin captained us in a game once.

Not as though he's taking over full time.

Mark Kerr was only last season!

That doesn't say very much for either of them!
