ABERDEEN FC boss Mark McGhee was today facing a mad dash back from a spying mission in Europe in time to be at their SPL clash with Kilmarnock.
McGhee made a flying visit abroad to watch a player as he continues efforts to bring in up to 10 new faces at Aberdeen FC in the summer.
But his return journey was in danger of being disrupted because a rise in the levels of volcanic ash in the air was causing problems with flights between Heathrow Airport and Aberdeen.
If his flight does get cancelled, McGhee faced the prospect of having to drive the 550 miles from London by car to be back in time for the 7.45pm kick-off.
