McGhee’s praise for Mackie and Young

FORGOTTEN Aberdeen FC players Darren Mackie and Derek Young could end up being the real winners in the wake of their Scottish Cup victory over Hearts.

 

Mackie and Young have been frozen out by manager Mark McGhee for most of the season so far.

 

But the Aberdeen FC boss was quick to praise the pair for their contributions as they eased past the Jam Tarts to book a visit to Raith Rovers or Airdrie United in the fifth round of the competition.

I would say more so in Derek Young's case, he is not the answer at right back.

 

Mackie however put in a great performance against Utd and again against Hearts, the jersey is his and its up to him to keep it.

Wonderful. A total nothing story, even if it had a quote from McGhee, which it doesn't. The evening express never ceases to lower my expectations of it.
