Sun: Its time Sone shines here

ABERDEEN gaffer Mark McGhee has told Sone Aluko it's time to produce his best form for club as well as country.

The Dons winger is back to face Hearts this weekend after Nigeria were knocked out of the Under-20 World Cup by Germany.

Now McGhee is demanding a return to the sort of displays that earned Aluko a Flying Eagles call-up.

He reckons the competition in Egypt was a major distraction that has blunted Aluko's impact this season.

That included a bust-up between the pair when Aluko left for a Nigerian training camp in Majorca without permission.

McGhee insists all that trouble is now in the past.

He said: "We spoke things through at length at the time and it was all cleared up.

"It would be great if Sone could show us what he is really capable of against Hearts this weekend.

"I don't believe I've seen him at his best since I came to the club in the summer.

"Sone has a lot more to give because he was really outstanding for Aberdeen on several occasions last season.

"I'm sure that his involvement with Nigeria will have affected him. We hope Sone can get on with doing his best for Aberdeen again.

"That's not to say he hasn't been making a contribution so far.

"Some people claimed that he didn't play well when he came back to face St Mirren ahead of the finals in Egypt.

"But I thought his attitude was first class and he gave us what he could."

Is this the same mythical bust-up involving Sone Aluko, Mark McGhee, a toaster, Stewart Milne's old wig and Gabriel Batistuta's hamster?
