Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/north_east/8140230.stm

Aberdeen Football Club is taking legal action over damage caused to its pitch during an Elton John concert five years ago.

The SPL club claims the concert promoter Marshall Arts Ltd had said the cost of replacing the Pittodrie pitch would be covered by insurance.

However, the club claims it has yet to be compensated for what is said to be a £36,000 bill after the 2004 concert.

The club has lodged a claim at the Court of Session in Edinburgh.

They should have settled it with a punch up.

It would be a sad, sad situation if they had to resort to violence.

I'm still standing by the clubs decision to host this gig.

I can see this case causing heartache all over the world.

Are you ready for love? ;)

I'm sure Elton played a gig up in Inverness as well, so AFC should maybe get on the blower to see if Caley will support their claim. After all, That's What Friends Are For.

Only one problem with that. AFC couldn't pay the phone bill because we're £36k out of pocket. Pocket ryhmes with rocket.

You're a rocket man.

I can't help thinking that AFC have as much chance as a Candle In The Wind.

We shouldn't have to sacrifice the one thing in our shakey ground we've spent money on.

There has been something about the way the pitch looked since that night.

I do believe that should be the last song.

The concert was before the smoking ban came in.  We don't let any fags in to Pittodrie now.

I am presuming these are all songs by Elton John? As a heterosexual man, I wouldn't know.

This thread sucks.

I'm just amazed that you lot know so many crappy Elton John songs. :o

Did you ever hear his tribute to Mother Theresa when she died?

"Sandles in the bin"

That's just too low for zero...
