Stewart
New Aberdeen FC manager ready for action By Sean Wallace Published: 15/06/2009 MARK McGhee today confirmed he will move to get five Aberdeen FC stars signed up on long-term deals. The new Aberdeen FC boss will challenge players with just a year left on their contracts to show their commitment to him by signing extended deals. Those players are Jamie Langfield, Mark Kerr, Gary McDonald, Richard Foster and Charlie Mulgrew. McGhee wants them to sign on and back his long-term vision for the club. McGhee said: “I will talk to those who only have a year left on their contracts, and ask them to extend those deals.†Someone needs to tell him we usually wait until March for this. Also, didn't Langfield sign a deal until 2011 not that long ago?

dave_min
Can't see it happening though. Why would the players sign up for long term contracts when the manager doesn't?
boboisared
I'll admit I wasn't over joyed at the prospect and appointment of mcGhee butas far as I have read so far he is making the right noises in the press.

boboisared
It's what happens on the pitch that matters. I don't care what is said in the press. Well I can't form an opinion on his tenure so far in regards to on field matters so i'm stuck with what he is saying.
