The Dons second string recovered from an interval deficit to get the better of their Hamilton counterparts at Glebe Park.

 

Tommy WRIGHT gave Aberdeen the perfect start with a goal after just three minutes. De Visscher took a corner and Pawlett set up Wright. Accies howver responded in style and counters from Brian McQUEEN (10) and Lucas AKINS (16) saw the visitors go in ahead at the break.

 

The game turned on the hour mark when Stuart Smith played a great through ball and Chris Maguire was brought down in the box by keeper Sean Murdoch, who was sent off for the challenge. MAGUIRE took the spot kick himself and made no mistake to level.

 

In the sixty-fifth minute Sandy Clark brought on his son Nicky CLARK who scored within sixty seconds of his introduction with his first touch. Nicky was set up by Pawlett and Wright.

 

Sammy Stewart then set up PAWLETT who made the game safe on 80 minutes and CLARK grabbed a brace two minutes from time to complete the scoring.
