What do you all think the starting lineup for the weekend should be?

I've not seen any of the pre-season games but this is the line up i would go for

I agree to an extent, the only thing I would add is that Seve is a pretty good sweeper.

 

I'd be not unhappy with that as an 11.

I genuinely do think that we have the players to play 3 at the back, especially in a home game against ICT when we should be taking the game to them from the start. Mulgrew and Foster will be looking to get forward, Smith in his role will get plenty of the ball while McDonald and Kerr keep it tight in the middle of the park. Find out who's scoring goals and we've got a good side i reckon.

 

If we play 442 then i wont be overly surprised but that relies on whoever is playing wide to get to the byeline for a change and we havent seen that often enough. At least with 352, we have Smith who can get on the ball and create and two wingbacks who can try to get to the byeline. Just think this way it gives us more options going forward.

Dinna ken about you but I've got that schoolkid-like buzz ye only get fer opening day...Ken the table looks superb...Dons at the top, Huns in a relegation battle...abidy is optimistic, cynicism is at a season low...nae doubting it's by far the best day of the year.

 

I've been plannin my opening day for oh at least a couple o days now...

 

A blazin hot day, doon the Bobbin for 1ish, several large scoops, doon the grun for the traditional exchange of opening day insults wi the lads I only see dans the Y ken 'Aw right ye baldy c*nt...Aye nae bad, foos yer doos ye fat Bastard' [No mention of gingers? - Ed] that sorta thing...a rampant Dons put the Heelanders tae the sword...up tae The Pitt for a dozen or so celebratory wee nips...stagger up King Street...maybees grab a Ruby or a Chinkie...or if I'm feeling really exotic some 'Micro Chips' fae the Grill...then start the heavy drinkin and maybees a few snotters o the auld Bolivian Beechams afore endin the night at the Northern Soul/Ska night in Drummonds.

 

You may notice that the fitba plays a surprisingly small role in my plans and aye it might be the first day of the fitba season but truth be telt, while fitba does play a role this is the first day of a nine-month long festival o binge drinkin, piss taking, general all round naughtiness and anti-social shininigans...with side orders o recreational drugs, shaggin and fichtin added to suit personal taste...it's f*ckin ace innit!

The debate of the formation is about to rear it's again i reckon. JC is set to do his usual early season tinkering like fuck by playing 352 against murderwell.

 

He won't want to drop considine but won't want to leave diamond on the bench again either. By playing this formation he'll feel that we'll get the best out of smith in a free role. By playing this formation our pattern of play will go all to pot due to half the players not knowing where they should be.

Foster couldn't pass the ball to one of his team mates all day, nor  it seemed, was tackling that high on his agenda either.......
