The 21-year-old from Louisiana - who had a summer trial with Rangers cut short by injury - was recommended by former Dons goalkeeper Bobby Clark. Ā Lapira gained his first Irish cap in a friendly with Ecuador last year. Ā The Dons had hoped to be able to field the player in a reserve match with Inverness CT but did not receive international clearance in time. Ā Lapira was named College Player of the Year for 2006, following in the footsteps of former Rangers midfielder Claudio Reyna. Ā He was coached by Pittodrie legend Clark at US college side Notre Dame and was selected by Toronto FC in the Major League Soccer superdraft last week. Ā Ā Ā whit ever happened tae this boy ?Ā Quote
