Aberdeen FC Player of the Year 2024/25

Not done one of these for a while, and with OrlandoDon bringing up the 2020/21 thread, I thought we should do one for this season. So many players come into the team, and a fair few out. It's been a busy season.

Kudos to starting this after the player of the year awards have not long finished 🤣

Young player was Topi

Player's player was Nisbet

Fans' player was Shady Mo.

Goal of the season was Sokler v Hibs.

For me, my vote goes to Shinnie. Put in some fantastic performances early in the season, had a poor spell as did most of the team, but has bounced back strongly (not bad for a guy whose legs have gone) and has now switched to a new position.

Morris is arguably the most improved player, but has been an impact sub for a lot of the season and hasn't been consistent. Nisbet has been really good recently, but struggled for a huge part of the season and had fans wanting him sent back to Millwall in January.

Shinnie been more consistent, a leader, and hopefully a trophy winning captain in three weeks.

We'll miss him when he's gone. Enjoy him while you can.

This is the Donstalk Player of the year. Way more important and prestigious than the AFC one. 😉

Up until he got sadly benched, Devlin my player of the year.

Ross Doohan for me.

Nisbet just piping Devlin for me. Mainly because I have the attention span of a goldfish and Nisbet has scored at the weekend means he wins it for me.

Looking at that list makes you realise what a strange season it has been. We started with a back four of MacKenzie, Devlin, Rubezic and Molloy and finishing with a four of Shinnie, Jensen, Knoester and Dorrington.  The keepers have played half a season each.  Shinnie playing a different position to where he started.  Nilsen brilliant then shite.  Clarkson shite then better.  Morris in and out.  Duk awol then a starter then sold. Devlin an international one minute then warming our bench! McGrath great then injured then away. Nisbet shite then great.  And of course there is Ambrose 🤔.

Well, Ambrose has at least been the only one in the team who’s been consistent 😂

You mean he wasn’t released in January???

Going to have to split this into Player of the Year (2024) and (2025) - my take would be Mitov for the 2024 half of the season, Nisbet for the 2025 half.  Particularly for his spectacular winner in the May cup final.
