This one has banana skin written all over it.  With Don Cowie fast becoming the new Levien in terms of how his team plays I'm not expecting a classic. I am very much expecting a difficult afternoon though as we can't defend crosses and county have loads of height in their team.  That said, if we can move the ball like we did at the weekend they will struggle to live with us.....  If.  

It will be interesting to see if JT  makes any changes or sticks with the same 11.   I would would consider dropping Gueye myself, I just don't rate him through the middle and he really rode his luck at the weekend re not getting sent off.  That said though his stature could be handy against a team full of giants.....

Fingers crossed we can get an early goal otherwise it's going to be a tense afternoon

Don't agree that he rode his luck. No fouls that he committed on Saturday were worthy of more than the single yellow card that he got. Motherwell players hitting the deck as soon as they're within spitting distance of Gueye doesn't constitute him riding his luck IMO. 

 

I thought Gueye was good at the weekend. I do note that I appear to be in the minority there right enough. I thought his play was mostly tidy and he causes defenders problems. And as you say I think we might need his physicality.

He was physical and aggressive and the Motherwell players did their best to get him sent off. The whole team were more aggressive in the first half in particular and it got to the point I thought his next foul would be a red. And to be fair, his scissors tackle could have been red.

At the same time, what’s the alternative? Nobody stands out and nobody is consistent, plus as mentioned, he’s decent in the air which is a factor against county. He also plays the 10 and fills that space reasonably well, we don’t really have another attack minded player for that role. Gueye is much like duk, could be crap, could be a game changer.

Really intrigued by this one, if only to see where Shinnie lands. It’s amazing how few times he’s actually played at left back, but hopefully he’s enjoying his time there as he is ace. Clarkson may struggle against them given how tight they’ll likely be, but hopefully he’s got enough confidence to work his magic. don’t think Polvara is the answer, would probably be risky bringing him into fold against them. Hopefully PHG was just taking instructions a bit too far last weekend, but that said, his early season form was clearly a purple patch and we should be looking to move him on in the summer.

Broken shoulder keeping me out of this one which is gutting as Elgin says one of the better away days. Would expect Tobers to come in for Dorrington if fit and that to be only change. I would drop Gueye myself as just don’t think he is much of a footballer but expect manager to stick with him. Need to win this one to keep pressure on rivals for third.

Nilsen, Tobers and Mitov still out (although the latter two back training so might be on the bench at least v Rangers).

Same team v Motherwell I would think. Maybe Dabbagh for Gueye and Devlin for Jensen if you wanted to freshen it up a little. Interested to see how Palaversa and Clarkson get on when, presumably, they're given less time on the ball.

One change I think; Morris for Okkels, which probably means Keskinen to the left.

 

Morris was poor last time he started and thought Okkels had is best game last week. Shows what I know.

That was a tough watch.Shoulda scored near the end there,then lucky not to lose a goal after that. A bit weak in the battles,and disjointed in the build ups,but another dodgy game out the way and 3 points

Aye, a decent away performance. We were the only team trying to win it, and we did. Brilliant goal by Morris, and a few good chances to get another. Difficult to tell on the telly, but thought most were decent today, nobody spectacular. Gueye didn't really seem to perform, with the occasional glimpse of something when he was driving with the ball. His link up play needs to improve, although his flick ons with the head are decent. Good win to keep the pressure on Hibs. Special mention to the fat lad steward trying to prevent Morris from getting a selfie in front of the Dons support. Well done Devlin for dealing with it by getting the rest of the team to all go for one. Fucking jobsworth. Dingwall Hun I expect.

I might be reading this wrong, but Shinnie was a left-back when he first came to Aberdeen. He played left-back for Scotland as well, but I'm sure that's a game he would like to forget...

Nice to wake up to seeing another 3 points, didn't look pretty but the club look to be rebuilding that unity again which is great to see. And JT appears to have learnt some lessons, which is obviously pleasing to see!
