Very sad news, my thoughts are with his family and close friends.
Was good to hear Hibs v Aberdeen game is now a tribute to him. Well done to Hibs for reducing ticket prices.
-
Aberdeen ladette will be well pleased with that.
I may have been if I didn't already have them all, and hadn't received them as gifts!
Appreciate the sentiment though
-
Maguire - In the minority of fans who would like him to stay. For football reasons I hasten to add!
Milsom - DONE: 2 YEAR DEAL
Langfield - Ambivalent. Has improved since Leighton back, didn't bottle last sf! Still cannae kick ba oot!
Diamond - Hearts are VERY welcome to you. Early potential, became a total liability.
Aluko - Ambivalent. Carrying injury, or couldn't care less?? Sadly, often seemed latter until recently (coincidently when contract up!)
McNamee - , too injury prone sadly
Smith - would keep, but not on high wage. Trust Brown to find replacement if need be.
Vuja - Initial promise, then a few fuck ups. As Smith.
Blackman - Always going back to Blackburn. Very disappointing for us, after form at Motherwell.
Howard - Tin hat on, I'd have Esson back to challenge Clangers.
Young - Always gave the maximum 100% effort in whatever position he has been played in, which have been many! Thanks, but no new deal.

Well chuffed when I heard this surprising news
Quality player.

Sports shops? It's shite that if I walk into Sports Direct in Aberdeen all I see is Hun, Tim, Man Utd and Chelsea tops. And that's what kids buy.
Lol, yes I know sports shops! However, local to me the biggest sports shop is JJB (and my zumba instructor looked at me like I had 2 heads when I said no way would I be setting foot in there to buy the footwear recommended!)
I do appreciate what you mean re walk into sports shop and see hun/tim/epl tops, but as the dad / mum / auntie / uncle then you would surely already have bought the kid an Aberdeen top from the clubshop/online?
Surely selling in sports shops would mean less profit for the club too
-
Brilliant news
As club shops (and profits) are coming back into AFC's control, which shops do others suggest AFC shirts should be sold?
-
Was having a go at the club there, nae you!
I know

Would that be anymore than building a new ground?
How does anyone know how much they spend on keeping Pittodrie legal? Is it anymore than the £700,000 a year we spend servicing a debt that Milne has enforced on AFC? I can't see anything in the accounts about ground maintenance.
This official line from the club still annoys the fuck outta me. It's as if having a stadium so fans can come see the Dons is some sort of inconvenience for the fucking cunts that run our club.
Arseholes.
If the stadium really has crumbled so much that it costs a fortune to maintain, there's only one shower of bastards to blame for that, and its not the fans.
Jute/tsr, I don't know the answer to your questions. Tbh, I haven't followed the stadium saga/debate closely so as dave_min alludes to, I seem to have accepted an official line from the club. Whatever the reason(s) the club are struggling to keep the stadium legal, I agree it's definitely not the fans fault though!

Nae such thing as the "Last Man Red-Card Rule"
Anyhoo - i thought the mink started diving when he was about 1m outside the box before the challenge even went in.
When watching the game I thought initially Hooper was going to get booked for diving. D'oh @ me!
Would a red card have been given at the other end? Nae feckin chance!

In/Oot - Oot [mainly due to Sunday early ko]
Pre-match - My bed, shower, sheep pattern or red/white jammies on, dogs Aberdeen scarf on!
Match - Couch, shouting at TV [Have upgraded my Virgin package for the minimum 30 days]
Post match - If weather forecast accurate, working on my garden renovation!
Prediction - season over
-
I voted 5; in reflection of my ambivalance about the new stadium.
I agree with all others who referred to the (lack of) quality of the team, however to just specifically answer re the move from Pittodrie then I think now it is necessary due to the money being spent trying to keep Pittodrie legal.

Bollocks to the dignified silence, Craig Brown should just tell everyone what the little prick said.
Cup final revenge over that muppet would be a fucking dream come true.
Disagree re bollocks to the dignified silence, albeit I'd love to know what the little prick said too! I thought Brown's interview was politely critical! Very interesting comments about the truth the (Motherwell) fans don't know.
Totally agree on your second point though!
-
nice to see we win something every year
Yes, and it's 10 in a row!
-
Yes.
Story looks like an agent using fact his player is on international duty to try and generate interest in his client.
Your yes was in reply to will we get £400,000 if he moves within Scotland, .... apparently at the NOTW roadshow Craig Brown said the maximum we could get for Maguire was £360,000.
I agree re your second point.
-
And they know how much you just loooove those early morning starts to travelling to games!
Lol, I adore them!

The first train doesn't even get in to Glasgow from Aberdeen until 12:15 at Glasgow Queen Street.
Its actually gone beyond a joke, I reckon it will knock a few thousand of the crowd, yes they'll cover that with their TV dosh but they won't make up for the lack of volume from the Aberdeen support. Can imagine a lot of reds were unsure whether to go after what happened last time and this will decide it for them.
(Apart from Brechin) Aberdeen is the only team that fans, travelling from the home city/town, cannot go by train directly to Hampden (Mount Florida) in time for kick-off on a Sunday. If the first train from Aberdeen to Glasgow Queen Street is on time (weekend usual time for engineering works) and arrives at 1211, then all fans will then have the expense of a taxi out to Hampden. Fucking disgrace
According to 'trainline' Motherwell, Dundee and Perth all have several trains to get their (fewer) fans to Glasgow/Hampden. It's a conspiracy!
-
Feel much the same FJ.
Nae excitement at all about going to Hampden for SF (will be there though)
Nae expectations, farless "too high expectations" us AFC fans apparently have
Always a chance; that slight optimism is still to appear with me!
-
Thanks for sorting my spelling. I guess doing that, then posting the patronising message, makes you feel pretty amazing!
Anyway...I hope he gets at least 45 mins in this one.
I may be guessing wrong, however if you spelled Maguire's name wrong then I, for one, would have corrected it! Pet hate/ OCD/ Pedantic -; call it what you want. Imho, all Aberdeen fans should be able to spell our player's names correctly!
Do agree in hoping he gets more time in this one, although think whole experience be beneficial to him. If, as popular opinion, he will not be signing a new contract with Aberdeen then surely the 2 call-ups to full squad will increase compensation we are due for him??
P.S. mizer, new "smiley" potentially required! , ..... suicidal!

??
Little did I know the vomitories would be for me, without any alcohol
-
You left out this bit:
??
Are the vomitories fir the 0533 krew?!
Did you also note that all large flags have to be fire retardant, with "appropriate certification" ?
If that is applicable at St Mirren, as was at Hampden, ... then one can only assume same rule was applicable at Parkhead with the Lennon never walk alone banners which looked like they were made oot of auld sheets?
-
I was a very lucky wee lassie to be at the home leg, my first European game, what an experience , despite the score. If I recall correctly, it was pissing down too
My mum and stepdad (both huns, cough!spit!) had it all planned as a surprise for me! They met me at school lunchtime and we drove up to Aberdeen for the game. Despite getting home very late (for a 12 year old!), and the score, I recall being up early desperate to get to school!
-
I was well pissed off when it was announced this game was 1215 ko, being such a morning person... not!
In/Oot : In
Travel: Leave home circa 0730
Pre-match: whatever pub(s) we end up in
Game: whatever stand we end up in
Post-match: whatever pub(s) we end up in
Prediction: away win! and
Foster:If Rangers had money I would still be at Aberdeen fighting relegation
in Aberdeen Football Club

Also agree with those who say transfer list him if he wants to go , and (when) huns offer a pittance.
