as I have said elsewhere:
better to get a confident, assured defensive setup given the loss of RA than fucking about with stupid ideas like Touzani at RB and Hart in the middle. Also Maguire was in central midfield tonight, why?
We cannae train properly due to the heat so we might as well get something from this shambles of a trip

Chesterfield Fan Here
Just wondered what you lot thought of him..best postition etc as i and many of our fans havnt a clue who he is.
Ta
many of don't have a clue either
hardly got a chance under Calderwood, but at times showed some promise in the middle of the park when he did get a run out but these occasions were few and far between. Reports from the reserves suggest he showed lack of interest alot of the time and certainly seemed to carry a lot of "extra baggage".
Perhaps if given a chance he'll achieve something, but from his time at afc it is impossible to tell

I thought you were talking about the shite weather we've had this "summer"
Shows how importantly I thought of him

Virgin adds free Setanta to top TV packFriday, July 20 2007, 09:18 BST

Virgin adds free Setanta to top TV pack
Virgin Media is to offer customers who take Virgin Media's XL TV package an additional six Setanta Sports channels.
The cable group says this is not a "one-off" offer, and the extra channels - Setanta Sports 1, Setanta Sports 2, Setanta Golf, Racing UK, Celtic TV and Rangers TV - will form part of Virgin Media's TV XL package on an ongoing basis from July 26.
Virgin Media said in a statement that the offer would mean those who wish to watch all the live televised matches from the Barclay's Premier League "will pay over £110 less with Virgin Media than they would with Sky," over the first 12 months.
Customers of any other Virgin Media TV service who want to add these Setanta channels to their service will be able to do so for just £8 a month.
Commenting on the deal, Malcolm Wall, chief executive of content for Virgin Media, said: "This deal will transform the world of TV sport and makes our XL TV package the best of its kind in the UK. When we launched Virgin Media last February, we said we were going to shake things up, provide something unique and give our customers superior offerings. Today we're making a down payment on our promise by giving our customers the very best sporting action combined with unbeatable value. But this is only the beginning. In terms of both sport and other new high value content, there's much more to come from Virgin Media."
Virgin's XL customers will now get access to the 46 live games from the Barclays Premier League, 60 matches from the Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League and the US PGA Tour golf, as well as European League football, rugby and horse racing. Next year Setanta will be showing 25 of the 40 televised fixtures from the English FA Cup, and a selection of England football Internationals and the Community Shield.
Michael O'Rourke, co-founder of Setanta Sports, said: "This deal emphasises Setanta's determination to make premium sports content available to as many people as possible, at the best value possible. Virgin Media's XL customers will be absolutely delighted to get our sports channels for no additional charge."

can't believe Smith is more likely to get the bullet than JC either
-
John Collins must be a shoe in for first to get punted. Can't see Saint getting rid of McPherson at all either. Which idiot made up these odds?

loving the new strip by the way
getting it ordered tomorrow
hope it arrives when it is still warm enough to show it off at games without having wrap up in a dozen layers

not sure about touzani and hart in the middle. Would have thought that zander and jackie mac might have been a better proposition, or even Mair and zander.
Like the sound of the new lad but I remember the hyperbole around Peter the Pole a couple of years ago and also with the likes of Thornley so lets wait and see.
Good win. Sounds like we played some good stuff and hopefully it is the sign of things to come. Hopefully this means we won't have the embarrassment of failing to score against amatuers again this season

I think he was suggesting the huns were the only ones likely to take clangers off our hands.....atleast I think that is what he was getting at
-
.....and I thought you had made up the team names on the fixture page,
Seems like another farcical pre-season in beckoning........
But as reekie say's, Jimmy will get a nice tan!
That is THE most important thing after all

No way will Soutar be number one........surely...........please

I said on the Hat earlier that they don't deserve him, they are pretty arrogant about it all. I suspect he may end up returning to us at some point, I reckon he'll get homesick. Model pro as he is he's an Aberdeen lad and lived there for 28 years - and family etc obviously from there. Give him 2 seasons and he'll be back. (Look at Jackie Mac).
that and the NorthEast of England is full of more hoor poofs and junkies than Edinburgh

It should be used to service the debt. It's at, what, about £13M now and we are still losing money every year. With out debt increasing and the stadium issue seemingly as far from a resolution as ever we can't afford to waste money on transfer fees.
Yes Russell's wages should be used to sign someone else (if not used already) but I wouldn't go spending the £1M
-
If this is what the board thinks will up attendances theyve got another thing on the way. But anyway it will make the team step up for once and it will be great to see Anderson using all of his potential somewhere instead of wasting it on covering Diamonds blunders
If folk stop going to Pittodrie because Anderson has been sold to Sunderland they need to give themselves a slap
-
why would Cardiff want Hart?
Do they not have McNaughton to play at RB?
Better not lose Hart. Anderson I accept, but to lose half our defence, and our two best players from last season would be a huge blow
-
God has left our Defense
You've been across the water for abit too long.
As for Russ......
Good luck to him. He deserves the chance to test himself at a higher level and hopefully he succeeds and finally gets recognition in the National Squad. Always thought he would leave and never really believed we would get much more than £1M for him. Don't think and of this money will be, or should be, spent on fees for new players but him leaving should free up a decent wage for another player or two (hopefully a keeper), just as long it hasn't been spent already.
No reason to feel anymore downhearted for next season and hopefully zander, andy and karim can step up their consistency in performance (and fitness)

Utility player
nae shock there
anyone got any stats on him. Please tell me at 31 he is not at the peak of his career having reached the dutch amateur league...........

BTR is a mod
He let his guise slip did he?
He did that when he had a Bond Villain as his avatar and edited somebody's post
Btw I had a quick scout at train tickets and you're talking about £80 return.....sack that
-
talking of fucking weegies......
I'm up for this banter
btw would it be easy enough to get tickets? and how would we get there?
-
the story that has been posted on Hat is terrible journalism even by EE standards. All old quotes from afc no concrete quotes from Sunderland and basically the same regurgitated shite that has been going round since the end of the season

amazing how a closed season can make you forget about the shambles that is afc and get all optimistic for the coming season, yet this feeling is quickly lost after just a few weeks of pre-season. I'm getting increasingly worried about our opening games
