Aberdeen FC today confirmed their fourth summer signing when defender Mark Reynolds rejoined the club on a season long loan from Sheffield Wednesday.

The 25 year old, who spent the last half of the previous campaign with the Dons, is glad to have his future sorted out.

"I'm delighted to be returning to Aberdeen. I know the club, the manager and the players well so it's going to be an easy transition for me.

"I was desperate to get my future resolved and when it was made clear I wouldn't be part of the manager's plans at Sheffield Wednesday my thoughts turned to possibility of returning to Aberdeen.

"It's great to be back at Pittodrie where I feel wanted and I just can't wait to get my season started."

  3. I'm a Dons supporter from about 1965. I now live in Chiang Mai Thailand. Tonight the Thai second division Chiang Mai team was playing in front of 7 - 8,000 supporters, same as usual. At half time it was Chiang Mai 3 Nan 0. It was closing in on full time and the second half was all Nan. Then we got a corner, the ball came over, the Nan goalie got it (sort of) bounced it off the ground and the Chiang Mai striker tapped it between his legs. The home crowd got into an enormous 'Jamie Langfield' chant. It's great to be famous!

    Just kidding!

  4. As an aside, anyone know where Dazzler has gone since his contract ended? Did I miss his signing for someone else? Hell if O'Dea can get an MLS gig surely Mackie could?

    He's training with the reserves/youths.

    Ja, wirklich.

ESPN announces deal to show SPL and Rangers live

ESPN has followed Sky by announcing it has agreed a deal to show live Scottish Premier League games this season - and Rangers games in Division Three.

Under the deal, 30 SPL games will be shown on ESPN over the season, as well as 10 involving Rangers.

Three of the games of the club now playing in the bottom tier after liquidation will come from Ibrox.

It represents 10 more live Scottish football games on the station than in previous seasons.

Earlier this week, Sky Sports announced a deal for 30 SPL fixtures, plus five involving Rangers.

SPL clubs had feared that the absence of Rangers from the SPL would result in a major loss of income after renegotiation of television contracts.

No figures have yet been released for the Sky deal or the one announced by ESPN.

SPL coverage on ESPN starts on Sunday, when Dundee United host Hibernian.

ESPN announced: "The Clydesdale Bank Premier League, Irn Bru Scottish Football League and ESPN have reached a multi-year deal for rights to Scottish football from next season through 2017.

"The agreement means ESPN's channels in the UK and Ireland will next season screen 40 live and exclusive matches from both leagues - more than ever before and 10 more than in previous seasons on ESPN.

"Under the deal, 30 Clydesdale Bank Premier League games will be shown on ESPN over the season alongside 10 Rangers games from the Irn Bru Scottish Football League, including three home Rangers fixtures."

You can't get away with playing the ignorant card, min. My old man does that. I'm not sure if he's serious or trying to wind me up.

Does no one have common sense any more? If you say someone is black or African-American that's not automatically racist. Obviously. A lot depends on the context. John Terry isn't a racist because he said Anton Ferdinand was black but because he called him a fucking black cunt which, of course, absolutely is racist even if it could have been a stronger word than black.

And Afro Americans aren't named after the hairstyle. ??? Not sure if you're being serious there. And it's less a hairstyle then just the characteristics of their hair? I'm starting to think GD was being sarcastic!

  7. The problem with racism is that no one tells you what is politically correct and what is racist. The other day the BBC was on about John Terry saying another player was a fucking black cunt. Nothing wrong with fucking and cunt but black is racist. CNN was on about black voters and the black vote - is that not racist? Back to the BBC; God knows when they were doing a story on crime in America and there was a mob of young Afro Americans calling each other niggers in front of the police and none of them got arrested for racism.

I am 60 years old and I would really appreciate it if someone could explain what is and is not racist. By the way, the politically correct term - Afro American to my way of thinking, is the most racist terminology that I can think of - it s okay to describe your race as the stupidest hairstyle ever created. I would rather be nigger than afro.

    GREAT FIRST POST.

  8. If I can find the FTP login details, I'll send it to you. I might just update the site anyway, as the issue may resolve itself with the upgrade from v2.0RC2 to v2.0.1

Ah FTP details - the Holy Grail.

Can't you contact the host and get the root account details?

  9. There's an issue with one of the php files :

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'TYPE=InnoDB' at line 5

    File: /var/www/vhosts/donstalk.co.uk/httpdocs/messageboard/Sources/ManageSearch.php

    Line: 564

This will need to be fixed before creating a search-index. If I get time (sorry nae had the time recently cos of work and kids) I will do a site upgrade and see if the latest release candidate of SMF has fixed this PHP error

Are you able to send me this file or are you debugging it yourself?
