  1. Gutted I'm not able to get up for this game. Won't even see it on the telly either, I'll be struggling my way round the London marathon course on the 13th.

I'm currently trying to get some mates to position themselves strategically around the course, to give me score updates as I pass them. maybe some kind of F1 style pit board system is what I need!

now if it was a regular 3pm kick off, then there'd be no problem, but that would be a silly idea for 2 non-Glasgow teams playing in Glasgow wouldn't it?  :hammer:

  2. I don't buy that for a second.  I really don't, IMO our players are not being selected for this pretty meaningless away friendly (this is a jolly for the away support, i.e. lets go play somewhere where the booze is cheap and the birds are hot) because their club (who both manager and assistant had very successful and happy periods at lest we forget) is competing really well in all competitions with a squad that does not have an over-abundance of depth.  This is a far more likely scenario than the asst manager of a national team that also has little depth vetoing any promising players on the basis that they are coming from the wrong club dontchathink? That just sounds ridiculous to me, can you honestly imagine that Strachan would tolerate for a second his assistant being so fucking petty?  I've heard Gordon Strachan being described as many things but never as a man that suffer fools lightly.  Cmon guys we're not fucking celtic fans, lets stop being paranoid.

    This

  3. Agree with  Al, 2nd half in particular was the most one sided draw you'll see.

The ref also let some shocking tackles go. I thought Hayes played better than I've seen him for quite a while today. He put about 3 great balls across goal that we somehow never converted.

My only complaint would be how easy it was for Motherwell to score their goals, very poor defending.

Have to say there were some wankers in our end today also. Broken seats round about us were visible.

  4. As shit as it was for us, I can't argue with the red card. whether or not 1 split second frame makes the ref look like he's an evil c**t or not.

If that was McGinn being brought down there's not 1 person on here that wouldn't be screaming for a red card.

I'm more annoyed that Langfield thought it was a good idea to make that challenge and run the very high risk of a red card in the 1st place. 1 nil down to that mob with 11 men with the team we currently have would have been rescuable. the 2nd half showed us that. 1 nil down with 10 men made it a massive ask. 90th minute, then by all means take out the striker and hope for a penalty miss, but not with a whole half to go.

now that I've had time to calm down, I've taken a lot of positives from the 1st chance I've had to see us other than highlights. we look like we've got a bit of shape and purpose to us now, and while we lacked a final ball at times, we also had Robson missing yesterday. a good result at Tynecastle next week would get us back on track nicely.

  5. f**king unforgiveable to be caught out by a long ball over the top like that.

Samaras runs in slow motion and still got the better of Anderson.  Why the Flying f*ck did anderson look up at the linesman while trying to tackle him? play to the whistle you tit. you can check for offside when you know the danger's over.

  6. I'll reserve judgment till we're playing in a high pressure game with lots at stake. that's generally when Clangers comes into his own. you know, something Like a semi final.

Glad he's been better than usual of late, but if a chance of a decent keeper came up at any point, we should jump at it.

JL would be a decent number 2 to have around.

  7. how much longer are we going to persist with the negative sh*t from Brown?

It seems he doesn't care what happens in games, by the time next Saturday comes all will be forgotten and we'll revert to the tactics which saw us trailing the previous game in the first place. maybe it's dementia?

If you're going to be a negative manager, then you need to teach your team to defend. especially set pieces. Brown hasn't got us defending, he's just got us not attacking.

I thought Magennis actually did a decent job at full back considering he's a goalie/forward/simpleton. was happy that he got the equalising goal, I thought he deserved it.

    One final thing.

Langfield. how long until he retires? as I imagine it's the only way our club will finally rid itself of this utter waste of space.

without looking up Opta, I reckon it must be around 80% of his 'passes' went to the opposition, with most of them going straight out of the pitch. absolute joke.

  8. I was fairly surprised when I saw Langfield was No. 1 on saturday.

given his history of mammoth f**k ups, he himself must have felt pretty lucky to be starting the 1st game of the season.

Good chance for him then, to really stake a claim, show that he can win his place back.

Apart from some saves that, as has been said you'd expect any keeper to make, he didn't do anything outstanding.

He did however, go on to make the kind of error I see at my son's school games.

His body position for what can't even be described as a 'shot' was less than amatuerish.

If that's how he takes his big chance, then I'm sorry but it's out the door.

I don't care about how people perceive Jason Brown to be. he could have personally called me a pr1ck on twitter for all I care, but if he got us a clean sheet at Parkhead I'd probably let it slide.

Craig Brown isn't an x factor judge. personality shouldn't come into it before talent.

I'm not saying Jason Brown is brilliant, far from it. We all know he was poor in the Hibs semi for the 1st. but he's still got a bit of grace for the time being. he hasn't continually fucked up with every big opportunity he's been handed by a succession of managers.

Langfield has. and for that reason more than anything else, Langfield should not be starting games for us.

  9. I thought last night's show had a few damning facts (the d & p ticketus fiasco especially)

But most of it was old news mixed with amateurish production in the way only BBC Scotland can.  What the fuck was all that 'data room' pish for?

If anything the fact the program looked like it was put together as part of a school project on an Amiga detracted from some of the underlying investigative journalism.

I wonder how many folk gave up and switched off before the end and therefore missed the ticketus revelation? you could have fitted the real hard hitting stuff into a 20min show.

And what illness does the presenter have, that makes his head change direction with every syllable?

Overall I was disappointed given the build up it had this week.
