  2. I wouldn't say any of those bands made it 'big' over in America.

You proved that by saying Radiohead did 'alright' over there.

The Billboard chart would like to disagree with you.  I'd suggest that having every one of their studio albums reach the top 100 (including 4 albums reaching at least number 3) is pretty sufficient to qualify as "making it big" in America.

As for the Arctic Monkey, my take is that although they don't do anything revolutionary, they do it very well.  But you're right, they'll probably be gone in the next few years.

  3. When he went off I noticed he wasnt limping, but just walking fine which did make me think.

I thought he was walking a bit gingerly for a few minutes before he went off - I said to my mate that I thought Smith was coming off as soon as we saw Aluko getting ready despite (misplaced) wishful thinking at the time that it would be de Visscher getting hooked.

  4. But this situation is brought about because of Calderwood. It's because of the old favourites and non-favourites situation that I'm sure I don't need to explain to you. Not saying it's right, but that's the reason for it. Think there's a genuine feeling that Lovell hasn't been given a fair crack at it this season and that guys like Mackie - who's been incompetent for a decade now - will continue to be picked regardless of form. Unfortunately, if fans want to get their feelings across about the situation they don't really have that many other ways to vent it.

I agree there's a certain element of favouritism going on there - it's obvious that JC doesn't like Lovell.  Lovell hasn't helped his cause by looking totally uninterested at the best of times though.  Even on Wednesday, Mackie at least managed to get himself into situations where he had the opportunity to completely cock it up.

  5. My issue here isn't that Mackie was getting booed, it's that Lovell wasn't even though he was at least as bad as Mackie was on Wednesday.  I don't like to see any of our players getting booed and it's not something I've ever found myself doing, but if you're going to be a boo boy at least be fair and abuse everyone who deserves it.  Otherwise you're just a vindictive fucktard like the obnoxious shouty man who sits behind me.

  6. Has he actually bagged any?

From what I've heard, he's got lots of pace but no end product.  Sort of like Maguire but without the fresh-air swipes.

He scored an absolute beauty against United at Pittodrie a few months back.  I reckon he'd have more in the way of end product if any of the rest of the team moved and looked like they actually wanted the ball when we attack.

  7. Pre game I'm sure I read Mackie wouldnt be risked as he wasnt fully fit - oh look he played too

Presumably because we were losing at the time and the attack had been completely impotent up until that point?  Not that it got any better once he came on mind you, but you can hardly criticise the manager for having Lovell, Smith, Mackie and Maguire all on the pitch in an attempt to get back into the game.

  8. Think thats extremely optimistic Drew.

Cannae see it happening to be honest.

Reckon I'd be happy with a draw in league game and a cup victory

I'd take that.  Game yesterday was terrible, but I thought Miller was excellent again and deserved his MotM.  Langfield made some very good saves but his kicking got us into a fair bit of trouble.
