  1. Now, press conferences don't usually get called for bad news do they?

As a result i would imagine it's going to go something like this:

"Now, there's good news and bad news.  The good news is we're knocking 10 pence of the price of a meal deal.  The bad news is that we're losing our manager, two of our best defenders and our best midfielder."

    Or

"The bad news is that Nicholson, Diamond and Hart will not be renewing their contracts.  The good news is that Chris Clark won't be either."

  2. I still can't believe we let them beat us 4-1. >:D

They are a complete disaster and we got royally fucked by them - that's the only thing that is annoying me as i look at their plight.

Aside from that, the rest of it is bloody hilarious.

I watched the highlights last night, and Scotsport obviously were trying to go easy on them  - Michael Stewart was sent off for arguing with one of the hearts fans, and they said he "Fell out with the linesman".  Sorry guys - utter bollocks.  I also enjoyed seeing the hearts players fighting and arguing with each other on several occasions - clearly not that happy a dressing room methinks.

    Bloody wankers.

  3. Wasn't having a pop Drew.... honest ;)

Just highlighting the lack of quotes for them to back it up mate.

Never thought you were mate - i was just getting my disclaimer in early just in case the story was the pile of pap it turned out to be!

  4. Cheap journalism and copied straight fae here ???

    Nae quotes I note ;)

Aye, like i said i just saw the back page - never read the story properly.

Think i was just surprised they found the space to sqeeze in a football story inbetween the Diana "inquest" and the latest round of "Where's Madeline Mccann"... ::)

  5. this is fucking typical ....there is absolutely no ambition at this club , wouldnt be surprised if JC fucked off as well .....1 step forward 5 steps back

If i was you i'd wait until this is confirmed before you head round to Willie Miller's house with a pitchfork.

Pish news if true, but I'll refrain from passing judgement until it happens.

  6. There is no mention of parking getting built at the new stadium so how would parking improve.

The is no mention of improved public transport links - except a possible link to the park-and-rides.

The "football academy" part doesn't actually mention brick and mortar.

No mention of hotels, gyms, etc - all this is speculation.

I can assure you that car parking and improved transport lonks is part of the proposal.

The hotel is also part of the stadium.

Just because these things are not mentioned in the initial press release does not mean they have not been provided for.

  7. Rail links, monorails, undergrounds, trams, hotels, shops, gyms, blah, blah, blah..... my arse.  I fully agree with Jager and his views that nothing other than a stadium will be built.

Fair enough CAPS, but i disagree.

There are huge plans for up that neck of the woods - whilst we all know what can happen with planning in Aberdeen, if the stadium gets the go ahead these plans being approved will be a formality IMO.

  8. NO chance of rail improvents - we gave up asking for electrification of the line... every year they cut back on the number of trains stopping at stoney and porty.  It's not the london olympics we're getting, or even the commonwealth games, don't expect any REAL infrastructure to arrive out of this. Yes, we might get a weatherspoons, a pizza hut and a new tesco... but no major road imrpovements and no new public transmport except possibly shuttle buses.  Expect it also to be used for a wealth of planning apllications for new housing to join up Aberdeen and porty (as is already happening) - would be interesting how much of that land stewart milne already has options on. By the final planning stage, they will have ditched a football academy, ditched the training grounds, ditched the facilities

Quite the ray of sunshine aren't we? ;)

  9. After speaking to one of my family members last night who is working fairly intensively on this proposal at the council's end, i'm fairly excited about the development.

They've got shitloads in the pipeline for major developments up that end of town, and i think it'll be a really big thing for both the club and the city as a whole.

And i must admit that i'm surprised that there are people moaning about the fact it's a whole three miles from union street.

  10. Sounds fair enough to me, get on with it lads!

Yup.  I'm not surprised the chosen location is Cove as it fits in with the regeneration plans - that and the fact the site at the beach is beset with niggly planning and legal issues which would be difficult to get round.

    All sounds very promising.

Just out of interest, does anybody know if will we be able to put £8 Million towards the development as well as wiping out our debt from the sale of pittodrie?
