  1. I don't get this attitude of not wanting a hun as manager, I want the best possible person for the position, and the best possible move for the club.  I didnt care when it related to previous managers and i don't care if it relates to a future manager.

I'm not saying butcher would be a good appointment or that he wouldn't but i really don't care for the excuse "he's a hun bastard" and its the impression I'm getting here.  Sorry if ive picked that up wrong.

Another thing, I think we'll seriously struggle to attract a manager that will get the fans flooding back, it will take time to get the fans back and i suspect it will take quite a lot of time.

    Have to agree 100%.

After all, was our greatest ever manager not an ex Rangers player and self confessed supporter?

It doesen't matter who they played for, managed or supported, so long as they produce a decent team capable of competing at the right end of the table.

  2. It now gives the club time to make (and I hope they've already sounded out) a suitable replacement.

I think they probably have someone lined up already.

The speed of events after today's game would suggest this is the case.

I  agree that he has steadied the club and brought back respectability, but, the standard of football has been pretty dire for some time.

I for one won't be shedding any tears over their departure.

  3.

but there are 3,000 Dons fans who have stopped coming to Pittodrie since you took over who know better. Watch that figure swell even more this summer.

Already happening! Since the start of the season the empty spaces around us are becoming larger every game. These are seats which were occupied by ST holders who now can't be bothered turning up. I suspect other areas of the ground are the same. This is the result of the dire football served up by the management and the team week in week out. The warning signs are there! Will the Board take heed?

  4. This was my second game, having been to Vienna in the previous round.

Two great bus trips!  ;D The polis in Liverpool were far more heavy handed than their

Austrian counterparts despite there being a little skirmish inside and outside the Prater Stadium. :stretcher:

  5. "The longer it goes for us to win the harder it is going to be, but the supporters have been brilliant and I think they can see the effort being put in."

"As for the fans, one problem we have is that some of them still think we should be up there with the giants. Now I’m not accepting the current situation for a moment, but I just feel we need to be realistic".

Is it just me or do these two quotes contradict one another?  ???

  6. I'm not sure it's all down to Jimmy - yes, he bought the players - but if they don't perform....

In the first half it seemed like chance after chance and no friggin dons player could finish - not sure what jimmy can do about that.

He could leave a settled side for a start. Changing the defence every game is the best way to ruin a teams confidence. >:(

  7.

    The Fans

Pros: Backed the team through thick but mainly thin for 15yrs.  Pump thousands into afc.  Will come out in numbers when there is something to entice them in (uefa cup, cup semis)

Cons: Too quick to moan. Deserted in droves over the last 2 years despite relative success. Unrealistic exceptions (sic)

The fans that are deserting the club are like most of us, all they want is a decent standard of football with players who put their all into every game & are able to have the basic skills to control a ball and pass it to one of their own team mates. There have been precious few entertaining games under JC's stewardship. Yes, we don't get beat by 6 or 7 any more, but with the standard of players in the current squad we should expect more attacking football than we have been seeing over the past couple of seasons. As for unrealistic expectations,I don't think expecting to see your team attack the opposition with a bit of flair in home games is unrealistic! That is the least any supporter, no matter who they support, should be entitled to .
