  1. It's always hard to tell in friendlies, but he looked pretty solid and seemed comfortable when he had the ball at his feet. He was also good at covering the right areas when the other defenders were making challenges/going forward.

Will see how he gets on in competitive matches, but, I would say, overall he looks a decent signing. (That's the cue for him to be the new Winnie! ::))

  2. One thought. Did anyone at the time think Turnbull was an "inspiring" choice?

    Or Ferguson?

Gie the man a chance, if he's ours, he's OURS!

Spot on MBT. some sections of our support will crucify any new manager before he even gets to the city.  :-[

  3. We speak about "legends" too easily these days.  Now Teddy Scott truly is a legend.

Mr Aberdeen sums him up, probably rightly so the most respected person ever associated with our club.

May you rest in peace in your treasure trove in the sky Teddy, one of the best.

    Spot on!

    RIP  Teddy.

  4. What did he do like?

Elbowed Tevez (though it looked like Tevez threw a punch at Barton first).

When red carded he walked behind Aguero and kicked him on the back of the leg then tried to head butt Kompany.

Whilst being dragged off the pitch he was still trying to have a square go with several players and backroom staff.

No place for this c**nt in football.

It was funny as f**ck though.  ;)

  5. Good to see Vernon getting service for once. Not too sure what the Fyvie goal fuss was about though - good stike but a screamer?

Can't remember how many, but there was a sequence of one touch passes, with Dunfermline chasing shadows, before Vernons header for Fyvie. Had this been a goal scored by either of the OF, then the bbc would have shown the full build up.

  6. Lead up to Fyvie's goal was superb. Great possesion play and one touch passing before Fyvie finished it off.

The type of goal you would see replayed over and over if it was in the English Premier League.

It was 4 going on 10 tonight, Gallagher saved the pars from a humiliating score with at least 4 great saves, (watch out for his first half save from Vernon's header).

we also hit the post and bar on four occasions as well as Pawlett & Milsom missing 2 sitters in the second half.

Add to that the near misses and it shows the  complete domination the team had tonight.

Although there was only one change in the starting 11 it was like a completely different team, with everyone putting in a great shift.

For the first time this season, you couldn't critisise any of the team.

Oh! and the strange sensation of cheering them off at the end.

More of the same again please!

  7. Mawene has been pretty good so far. Reads the game well and is usually dominant in the air. He took a couple of hefty knocks yesterday which seemed to slow him down. His mistake for the goal came soon after he was injured in a tackle, so perhaps that had a bearing. Should have been subbed earlier though, as he was obviously struggling.
