His ambition to manage West Brom has never been hidden. I think he will reject any sevconian offer ( I presume sevco are already aware of the release fee.....amazed they can afford this)
I’d love to see him at West Brom one day. It’s inevitable he’ll leave Pittodrie some time soon and I’d rather it was anywhere rather that Ibrox. EPL clubs are obsessed with foreign managers. He may not get a chance at The Hawthorns.
-
But the Hun DESERVE him don't they?
He's the OBVIOUS choice isn't he?
Scottish football media make you want to puke.
Even the decent ones believe deep down that Sevco should just be able to have what they want.
Excellent post DD. Nail on head.
Tom English empathising with Willie Miller the other night regarding Souness’ comments about Scottish football needing a strong Rangers then talking McInnes up for the job is a bit hypocritical.

I mind a time when you could email sky bet with a name and they’d basically add him to the list.
It’s time Lennon was on that list
-
I don’t get the timing either.
It’s poor that McLean is leaving but it’s where we are in the food chain. Players will leave the likes of Caley Thistle, Partick and Motherwell to come to us but will leave us to go to the Cheeks. We are certainly a lot better than we used to be at holding onto players. When we are losing players to teams they allegedly support, there’s not a lot we can do about it.
If he’d go to England in Jan for a fee that’d be best for us but it’ll probably be Ibrox for him

Moyes for Everton?

Back to work Wednesday so missing this
I’d take a draw.

Twickets is a good way of getting rid of tickets for face value.
Twitter is also quite good for shifting tickets.

Surely the aforementioned McIntyre and Dodds for the Arabs

I can imagine which idiots are driving it. I'll pass. I would hope there would there would be a slight discount for football fans but I doubt it. No way would the UK allow for something as progressive as free travel like in Germany.
Dinnae be daft Manc. There can’t be free travel when there’s money to be made.

It’s a fair point 1903. Any infrastructure costs could have been shared. Would have been a great excuse for a rail link to that side of the airport too.
Ah well.

Ive got a horrible feeling if Chesney walks/gets his jotters that Fanny McCoist will be putting his gardening implements up for sale on ebay
It would be a terrible appointment. If it's to be an easy choice, i.e. a Scot currently out of work, surely Lambert or Moyes would stand more of a chance.

I really don't think we will be there and if we do I expect to be embarrassed. Plenty Scottish sides with far greater talent than the current one did the square root of f@ck all at championship finals in the past. But I suppose if we did fluke our way there and WGS decided to act in the greater good by picking a young squad and exposed our obvious talents such as the 2 young left backs ( I think long term Tierney will go to centre back rather than right back) and McGinn to games against the very best in the world then I could accept the inevitable horsings. If he fills his squad with past it dross like Russell Martin and Lee Wallace then he can disappear to a Siberian concentration camp though.
I accept the SFA are a corrupt bunch of self serving arse cheek worshipping twunts but I'd always want the team to do well....
Very sensible post, all of which I agree with. We were mince last night. Was at the game on Thursday and although we played well in parts, we were lucky. Last night, everything bad about the team was exposed. Slovenia were fitter, more technical, better organised and hungrier. Strachan paid for having average players in the squad as back up. Our back up players should be youngsters picked on form. Crystal Palace have been horsed in every match this season. James McArthur shouldn't have been anywhere near the squad let alone the team.
And yet, we know hee haw will change. We get shown up time and again by smaller countries with 21st century ideas about football. It's easy to see why so many Dons fans are in the 'meh' camp.

There must be something in that DD. It's happened the last couple of seasons and yet Rooney still manages to come good. Hopefully history repeats itself.
-
Club saying 15k+ tickets have been sold for this game. For a game against that team, that is mighty impressive.
Will that not be the third 15k+ home gate this season.
-
Tend to agree. This may be when our luck runs out.

Out as I'm at work
Get back to a settled back four before the tougher games that lie ahead.
A win and a clean sheet would do me.
2-0 Rooney and Christie

The only boy who came cl,ose to putting a good case was the cycling gype Cruickshank, he spoiled it though by going on about it being a 24hr cycle route, which he personally had cause to use in the past at 1am, 2am, 6am, you know those really popular football kick off times?
He was also rather confused about the A944, it would be chock ablock with the football traffic making it very dangerous, but at the same time the road often sees cars travelling at 80mph. He didn't quite square the circle of which it was, chock a block or the Nuebergring, but I can honestly say in my whole life I can't think of a time I've seen anyone driving close to 80, it's just not possible there, and even less now you have the extra roundabout for the AWPR.
It's like they just can;t help themselves, even when they have a smidgen of an argument, they exaggerate out of all credibility.
NKS have had an absolute mare today.
Great post GG. Raised a smile.

If someone can't pronounce "loch" their objection should be thrown out without second thought
Seconded

I love the Bridge Over Troubled Water album.
Quite liking the latest Real Estate stuff.

Nice one, that'll be ace.
Got Public Service Broadcasting in October, not got the new album yet but hearing mixed reviews of it unfortunately.
Worth going for Spitfire alone Bobby. Think I'll look into it.
Up next for me. Sleaford Mods at the ABC

Thought it was weird last night when LiamMacLeod said a Slovakia win more or less guarantees them second.
Getting ahead of ourselves as per. Deal with Malta then take it from there.
Great win last night. Restored a bit of faith.

Well, can't say I know much aboit him but he certainly sounds like what we need. Will be interesting to see where he ends up on the pitch but the versatility gives us options. Logan came from top end of the championship, but he was their 3Rd choice, but again, that's neither here nor there. Clearly not the first target but he knew what we needed. Really good summer, on paper, probably the best we've had in many a year. Well done AFC
Too early to say, Manc. Hope you are right. Time will tell. Hayes and McGinn are massive losses. Great to see us get another defender in. Saturday was obviously the tipping point as we were shocking.
-
£1.3m the club got for Hayes certainly helps......
Looks to me like it's been well spent. Time will tell.

Had the Manics' debut Generation Terrorists on in the car last week. Ages since I've listened to it but well worth the wait.
McInnes to stay with the Dons
