  1. We should be more confident than them defensively so for once I don't mind keeping it tight and sneaking a goal from set play

Ball to score a cracker

I agree but we still need to get in their faces and rattle them.  Otherwise they go into auto pilot.

  2. Watched last weeks Westworld TV series at the weekend and thought it was excellent. Really looking forward to seeing where it goes. Was completely confused to start with, but finally starting to see what it is. Ed Harris is a frightening bastard in it like!!

I like that they've changed it with the human being the bad ass this time.  It looks quality as well, no cheap studio stuff.

  3. I'm not a big lover of the Oirish. I'm sure the majority of them are fine folk but....

I think it's the effect that they have on this country is the thing that pisses me off about them most. McGeady and McCartney have already been mention and then there was Ray Houghton, all would have been sure starters for Scotland, i'm sure there's more. Then you've got that West coast thing where half them see themselves as Irish/Scots. I've family who are about 4 generations away from being Oirish but still tell you that they're Irish/Scots.... GTF!!!

I'll say one thing for them, for being such a small place and population (3 million i think) there's a helluva lot of people around the world who claim to be Irish decent! And again, some amount of fooking nutters/hardy hoors for such a wee place.

To be fair you go abroad and everyone is quite keen on pumping up their Scottish roots.

Rod Stewart syndrome.  Basically where the hard-line Scottish faither would leather them at the thought of becoming more English, etc.

Three dandies in the squad is a good thing when Strachan can't even pick Shinnie.

  4. Sad thing is, the SFA really don't give a shit.

As long as they can deliver at least 4 OF games a season, that's all their bothered about, the rest of the game in Scotland can go fuck itself.

    Pretty much sums it up.

  5. I echo this. Tokyo has so much going on and Shinjuku in particular.

What will appear like a relatively lonely street/lane with high rise buildings in it will have these buzzing bars and food places hidden away in a multi-storey. We would walk into what seemed like a quiet building that had a beer sign outside it and the place erupted inside. Everywhere is mobbed! If you are over 5 foot 8 though its pretty easy to get server at the bar

Robot Restaurant is worth a visit - but its not a restaurant so eat before you go there. Grab a few beers and sit back and watch the stereotypical Japanese carnage that is about to unfold.

Kyoto is completely different and very tranquil. I'm assuming you have got all your accom booked up already so hopefully you are staying in a ryokan while you are there. A superb experience where you are treated like a king. The Japanese are superb with the hospitality.

We stayed in a Ryokan in Hakone.  15 course breakfast!  We then had raw horse in the evening.

Thr best part about Japan is not just how friendly they are but the fact they don't agree with tipping.  Yet the service is still fantastic.

Kyoto train station is the busiest place I've ever been in yet nobody bumped into me.  Shinjuku subway station apparently takes the population of Toronto in a day.

Fuck I wish I was back there.

  6. I went to Japan last year and it was Stooge that I got some advice from on abmad.

I had a blow out so managed to cram as much in as possible.

Tokyo was better than Osaka for me.  Shinjuku sums up the bizarre aspect of tokyo.  There's around 500 bars in a very small area and they are all the size of a small kitchen.  I couldn't even fit in to some of them.  The people we met there were all really friendly and wanted to help us out with where else to go.  The Japanese in Tokyo love a drink and smoke after work and I've never seen so many pished folk in suits.

Robot restaurant is in shinjuku and couldn't recommend it enough.  It's a tourist trap to be fair but it's like nothing you'll ever experience.  The food isn't great but you don't go for the food...if that makes sense?

Take a visit to the tokyo fish market which is an eye opener.  Really enjoyed that to combat the 5am jet lag.

After tokyo we went to the area around mount Fuji and experienced some amazing local food and lived in a traditional hotel where we had to wear a kimono.

If you go to the shared baths (same sex only) be sure to wash your balls in front of everyone or they will get out and you'll look like a right fanny.  That happened to someone I know!

Take a day trip at least to Kyoto and visit the kinkaku-ju, Fushimi Inari-taisha and Arashiyama.

Food wise you can't go wrong no matter where you go.  You won't get much fibre so those fancy toilets might not be much use to you

    Kobe beef and shabushabu

  7. My old man (as I posted on abmad) hooked someone at Hampden which was brilliant.

I got into a royal rumble type fight outside tynecastle after a cup game.  The police made us all go to the the train station and get on a train.  Which would have been fine if our car wasn't parked in the city.

  8. used to be on here years ago but i'll be buggered if i can remember my old user name.
