I am getting increasingly worried by the fact that Jim Jefferies and John Hughes are still being mentioned.
Thankfully (although I could be wrong) I've only seen Jeffries' name mentioned on forums; not a great deal of paper talk linking him to the job. Thank fuck.
-
I wouldn't bother with him, another Smith.
Wants his money for nothing...
Well, they are Brothers in Arms.
-
I'd say he is exactly the sort of player they would want to keep hold of if they went down to the championship.
This seems more likely to me as well. Players like Gary O'Neil will probably be offski if/when they go down, and Walker could well be needed to plug the gap.
Even if he does leave, I don't think CM is a priority for us next season.

Zander, Considine, Maguire and Foster have all made the step up under him have they not?
No really, he was already something of a regular under Pele.
-
Miller, one of the few players to play as you would expect him to.
In the first half he did what was expected, winning all but one of the balls lumped up to him and linking up play reasonable well, but he was pretty anonymous on the second half.
Would like to see how Mulgrew gets on with some cover in front of him.

Langfield
Diamond
Severin
Considine
Foster
McDonald
Kerr
Mulgrew
Smith
Miller
Bebo/Mackie
Certainly the sort of formation i'd like to see. Plenty of attacking options and good balance on the wings.

Mohammed Sylla, for example, was a very very fast athlete. But how many times did you see him on the tele running out of pitch cos he had no fuckin control of the ball?
A la Ricky Foster in his days as a winger?

There was an open question session which lasted 2 questions until some oap called Jimmy's brand of football negative & boring, but session had to be cut short after Jimmy lost it with the old dude and Charlie had to call a break for Jimmy to calm down, then it was back to pre-prepared questions!!
“The Aberdeen fans are passionate' date=' and often very critical, but I can honestly say that in all my time here I’ve never once had a bad moment face-to-face with a supporter. [/quote']Course you've no, Jimmy.

"They do believe they are worth more money because of the pressure they are under now but they want the authorities to understand they need to be protected from chairman and managers who question their honesty and integrity.
We are at the stage where referees are pilloried far too often now. It's unfair. When managers start saying openly that a referee has cheated, then we need to sit down and think again.
Just to echo CtS:
It's unfair? We need to sit down and think again? Too fucking right - although I'd suggest more thought needs to be given to which of these cunts should still be in a job rather than how much coin they should be on.

British Sea Power - Waving Flags
I'm sure it's been said before but I thought that sounded FAR too much like Arcade Fire...
Anyway, i'm on Elvis Costello's My Aim is True.

Confidence. As alluded to by Kowalski further up. Pre-season really starts here. Starting off with tough games Man Utd, Dundee wasn't a particularly good idea. Early games should be solely about building up fitness and confidence. Cliche of the day #1: You don't begin your training for a marathon by running a marathon.
You serious?

Unless you just mean putting Considine in whilst Diamond recuperates from his injury.
I'm sure that's what he meant, aye (given that Considine played last night and Zander obviously didnae).

As a trialist? jesus surely we're a better option that offering yourself for trials with mediocre english teams?
Was about to query whether or not Bristol City are mediocre (4th in Championship, beaten playoff finalists) when I remembered that Jamie Mac is their other full back. Says it all, really.
Am resigned to seeing Foster in the RB position next season. Given that the search for a new centre half hasn't given us anything more promising than Jean-Francois Lecsinel (yet...) then I don't hold out much hope.

Seems this Tommy Wright is a done deal
Up to Aberdeen for a medical.
All I know about him is he is a target man, and Darlington Websites seem thin on the ground. Anyone know much about him? What league are Darlington in anyway these days? Would we have been better going for the Linfield loon?
No (other than the obligatory Wiki entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Wright_%28footballer_born_1984%29).
League 2.
Probably.

An authentic left back. Looked OK at United, works for me.
Don't remember seeing him play but all signs point to this being a positive signing. And who knows, with Stuart Smith coming through we might even get some genuine competition for the left-back spot, and if Mulgrew can play left-mid we could get the beginnings a balanced side. You've gotta love pre-season optimism.

The lads still only 19.
By no means the finished article but showed enough promise towards the end of last season when he got a run to warrent this contract.
Good luck to he lad.
Hasn't quite lived up to the promise he showed in his first start against Killie a couple of season's ago, but he showed a good poacher's instinct in the run-in so hopefully can build on that. AFC (and Coventry) clearly see something in Beebs so i'm happy that he's staying on.

Compare:
•Dundee United came 5th in the lSPL last year and everyone was spunking over how f*cking wonderful Levein is, and how Dundee United had a f*cking great season.
•Aberdeen are absolute sh*te, allegedly, yet came 4th in the SPL, got to the semi-finals of both cup comps and the last 32 of the UEFA Cup. Jimmy is sh*te, GTF.
WTF??
Whilst I agree about the Levein/Arabs wankfest, that's not the point here is it? They were talked up no end last year, but are at least building upon their squad. We, however, still have Ricky Fucking Foster as our first choice left back and have done fuck all to sure up a shaky defence (granted, there's still time before the season starts, but are you confident that things will improve?).

McNaughton, who has been linked with Premier League clubs...
Oh aye. His agent been at it again?
-
Currently "More News From Nowhere" - excellent closing track to NC & The Bad Seeds' Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! Never really got into Nick Cave that much but after getting this album I acquired Murder Ballads, The Boatman's Call and No More Shall We Part - all equally as excellent, weird and epic.
-
I see his Wiki page has also been updated to note Aberdeen's interest. MUST be true...
Did he play at all last year? Don't remember seeing him much - not sure if that was through injury or what. Was never a fan of his diving beardy cuntness when he was a Jambo but he certainly would help with the defence, if only in a coaching role. Would be suprised if he went to Div 3 as a player/manager - would have thought he'd get something "higher" up than that.

Who is paul dixon? Never heard of him
Dundee defender (I think).

The feed from UEFA.com doesn't seem to be working at all.
Too busy
Yes, it would appear that the UEFA cup draw has actually broken the internet.
Who do we want as manager?
