We have a piss poor squad if you ask me, plus too many nice guys and not enough guys with a nasty bastard side to them who will get stuck in and scrap. Add that bojan, Barron, and possibly duk will move on this summer, ton of rebuilding yet again.

honestly dont care if the following never play for us again, most are average at best - Roos, Doohan, gartenmann, Jensen, Morris, mcgarry, Phillips, Morris, Hayes, sokler, Duncan, Milne, gueye, vinnie, Macdonald, polvara…

I get that some will be with us next season, but who do we ultimately have that we really dont want to lose??

we’re probably stuck with Morris, gueye, and mcgarry but certainly take any money on offer for them, add devlin, Macdonald, ruby, Jensen, Mackenzie, shinnie, clarkson, doohan as back up, sokler, McGrath, polvara, Duncan, were around a starting point of around 15.
Can see close to 10 coming in this summer, possibly devlin, Mackenzie, shinnie, and clarkson, maybe ruby, are the only legit starters we have? Not sure if sokler can be our 9. McGrath is good but not a right mid and shinnie McGrath and clarkson aren’t my ideal center mid group, prefer another physical athlete in there with shinnie and clarkson or McGrath.

hope jimmy brings in some Scandinavian talent, we need it!

What I'm reading from this is that you're very happy with Jayden Richardson, and would maybe even like us to build our team around him.

What are we going to say to CAS? "Please sir, this is unfair. We want 50% of the tickets even though we can't sell them all"? We'd rightly be laughed out of the place.

A fairer mechanism for selling, ie section by section up to a deadline and if not sold out the other team get them, is the ideal but to suggest we go greetin to CAS about it is fanciful. If "we" as a club want to make a point then it should start with being able to show demand is there in the first place, which it demonstably isn't. The SFA aren't going to have seats that could've been sold lying empty if they can possibly help it and it's very difficult to blame them for that.

It's fucking easy to blame them for it, it's a fucking rancid attitude that proliferates our game (and politics). We're asking for a free and fair opportunity to sell 50% of a neutral venue in pursuit of fairness and neutrality. That should be the absolute guiding principle of our governing body. Instead, the guiding principle of our governing body is to cater to the needs of the strongest two clubs in the country to the detriment of all others. We're living through the worst period in Scottish football history because of the continued unfairness. The court of arbitration should be designed to deliver fairness, because that's the purpose of sport, and so it's not a bad idea to take it to them. In reality, we'd need a concerted effort from forty clubs to withdraw their services from games at Hampden unless fifty fifty is the default offering.

I’m sick of hearing our fans claim we have a lot of good players, it’s total nonsense. 8 wins out of 33 games in the league tells its own story.

If Ross County make up three points on us in the next four games we would be fighting for our lives at Dingwall in the last game of the season. We are still well and truly in a relegation battle regardless of what anyone says.

If third is a realistic target next season (assuming we are still in the top flight) then we only have about four or five in that squad who are at that level, the rest need to be binned.

McKenzie, Devlin, Miovski, McGrath and maybe Lopes. The rest should be shown the door.

Good luck to this new dude but our fans need to get a grip on the expectation level. We ain’t got some divine right to be at the top end of the league just because we were a good side 40 years ago.

We did finish third the previous season though. In reality, there's only a few players between us and third place in any season. Just as there is us and 11th (more often than not, there's one team that stinks every season).

Obviously, I'd add both Shinnie and Clarkson to your list (and Rubezic might come good), but I agree that we're otherwise missing a lot from our squad. We basically don't have a squad. That comes from our constant rebuilding every season, and another missed window in January will be a huge issue for Thelin. None of the bench offer real competition for places, or anything different at all, and could be replaced with lampposts with little noticeability. Leven is basically playing our best available team in their preferred positions, with only Rubezic missing, and every team in the bottom six has been able to counteract that with ease (not necessarily beating us), and we've had zero off the bench. Phillips has been missing laterally of course, but for me he's the guy you want against better opponents where he can mix things up. I don't see any of the other squad players vastly improving under Thelin either, they're simply not good enough (maybe Duncan and Milne could advance with game time in a confident team, perhaps Sokler). I'd like to see a big clear out beyond the players you mention though, but that's going to mean at least two windows until we can start to see improvement.

Why the fuck should we buy our whole allocation up front or guarantee anything? It's meant to be a neutral venue and it's our top domestic knock out competition. Any club that plays there should be given every opportunity to sell 50% of the available seating. If they don't/can't then give the other club the opportunity to sell them if you must. We all know that everything in this country centres around the green and blue arse cheeks. They're not even having to try and hide it anymore because our own fans are being manipulated into thinking it's OK because our club "refused to guarantee" sales. 🙄 The people are fucking meek. Seems to be a Scottish thing in this day and age. Bunch of subservient fuds. Get what we deserve.

I wish I was going now so I could dramatically change my mind and not go.

I just read about Hearts perhaps having to pay for the unsold tickets, it's fucking scandalous. The default should be fairness, with everything else an addition. It's incredible that we've allowed unfairness to be the default, and fairness comes with a few. It's genuinely still staggering after all the years of it happening.

  5. Getting him now would be a shrewd move. Give Shayden enough time to play himself into the manager's plans for next season #cleanslate

I'd actually prefer if he just watches from the sidelines for the next few weeks and not being tainted with any of this season's mess. Obviously I'm licensed to change my mind after we trounce the dirty Tims on pens at the weekend

Curious to the optimism of this game vs Celtic. You’ve said it more than once too and, over the last week in particular, we’ve been piss poor against weaker teams. While this isn’t the best Celtic of recent years they’re still a handy bunch. Nothing in our performances of late tell me a shock is on the cards. Someone posted we’re the second worst team in the league at the moment, 3 league wins and 2 cup wins in 2024 doesn’t fill me with confidence against our league leaders. Why so optimistic?

It's all about feelings. I can feel it. Gut etc.

    In other words, shite.

5 point advantage but we've to go to Dingwall and would you bet on us even taking a point with our scaredy-cat motley crew?

I think Motherwell are better than us this season, but we seem to actually be able to play against them, they suit our style. Livingston will be coming here too, so it's a couple of opportunities. I'd think a single win would be enough. County won't win 3/5.

  8. Aye, the Huns have always hated us more than the Tims. Our relegation more important to them than winning the league.

We could get lucky with our five point advantage. We're the second worst team in the league right now.

We need a new manager in now, not June. If the club has any ambition for silverware this season they should be moving hell and earth to get somebody in asap.

Moving hell and earth to get someone in for a few days in the hope that he might manage to get this bunch of players to get lucky in the subsequent game against the Tims? I'd prefer the club to remain on this planet in terms of realism. We might get lucky in a one off game against the Tims (I actually think that we will), but it won't be because of a new manager.

  10. Just back. That was absolutely honking. Again. It seems that we're just not very good at football. The conditions were terrible as they have been for some months now, and I'm wondering if the first thing that Thelin will ask when he turns up is why we aren't playing summer football. Both teams were shite today in opposing halves.

We controlled the first half without creating any chances, and they did similar in the second. There were no redeeming features about us today, with every player being fairly pish, and the subs bringing more of the same. Duk playing for bookings in the first half was quite something, to not capitalise on any of the three players he got booked being on a booking was impressive. He just didn't seem to want to do the difficult, meaningful stuff once he got past a player or when in a good position. He then shut down at halftime. He was far from our worst performer. Thankfully we've only got three more at pittodrie to endure.

Really hope the last Dundee game was a blip for Leven. He speaks so much sense so I’d be surprised if it wasn’t. Just don’t want a repeat of said blip!

I was impressed with Dundee in that game, tactically. They played two high pressing midfielders and sylla picking off our attacks in front of their defence. Something we'll struggle to get round with our setup. Hoping that Miovski does something good, basically.

In the all ireland final several years back hawkeye ruled out a point despite all 5 umpires & the opposition players giving it and TV pictures showing it went straight down the middle

    Result

At halftime they checked the replays, awarded the point and decided to play the 2nd half without hawkeye.

UK seems rife with 'the computer said it was wrong'

Sounds like they've got a weird version of football in Ireland.

Bahaha has anyone seen the statement from the GFA? Essentially confirming that they made it up at the time but Hawkeye confirms that it was the right decision. What an absolute cluster football in Scotland is. Couldn’t make it up. Own the fucking mistake.

    https://x.com/ScottishFA/status/1778124348387103113

"The Scottish FA has today received a report from Hawkeye on the incident that occurred at Livingston’s match against Aberdeen, which confirmed that the Broadcast 18-Yard Left Camera suffered a loss of calibration and ceased line tracking on the relevant video frame. During the review, Hawkeye were able to reprocess the data through their system and draw the calibrated offside lines from the disallowed goal, which showed Angus MacDonald to be in an offside position. The VAR made the decision using the technology that was available and this decision was validated by Hawkeye's retrospective recalibration conducted as part of their review."

Christ, that's embarrassing. I hope the club respond.

By all accounts he's very "boring", not one to criticise referees or make outlandish statements

Fuck sake. Exactly what we don't need. A raving nutcase who throws his weight around when we lose is what the fans want.

Can only assume Lennon was asking for too much.

It means Peter Leven will be the first interim manager since Valdas Ivanauskas in 2006 to win the Scottish Cup.

You can have that for your next pub quiz.

    Obviously Warnock will claim it.

Second paragraph says it all. That’s the most basic common sense to me….!?!? You only change a call where it’s a clear and obvious error and that wasn’t the case and couldn’t be verified.

It is to us, but as soon as you give these interfering cunts the power to rule, they can't stop themselves. The level of arrogance that it takes to believe that you can better make a decision from a wonky camera angle, than a linesman looking straight across the pitch (it was a freekick too, so the linesman was in the exact position required). Not just arrogance, but it shows that they don't have even a basic understanding of how the system works to overcome 2D parallax, which is the whole fucking purpose of the Hawkeye system. I'd be fucking furious if I was the linesman having his work ruined by those incompetent fuckers.

Just as important is that they lied to the BBC at the weekend too. The BBC must surely release the details of who they spoke to at the SFA and properly out them on this. There should be resignations.

  17. There's a fairly strong case to say that the game should be replayed. The officials haven't followed protocol. Fielded an illegible player in the offside decision as it were. If it was either of the scum, a) this wouldn't have happened, and b) the game would be replayed.
