This BBC doc on just now is excellent. Some cracking contributions.

I fucking love this club. I'm 50 years old and I still get welled up watching the videos and posts of the day. I watch the DVD of the match every May 11th and still feel nervous.

I was happy to see this on YouTube as I can't get BBC iPlayer here. Not sure how long It will be up for.

Watched that on Sunday, what a glorious watch. It was all before my time but really did give a good insight, and a meaningful one, into the mentality of the club and team at that time. And I hope it goes a long way to mending McGhees relationship with the dons fans. No angst, just honest and happily reminiscent. Well done, BBC. Fantastic stuff.

What a cracking watch. So sad to see all the boys welling up when they mentioned Cooper. But i loved the bit about "oh we had the players, we had the experience and the youth ... we just needed someone to gel it all together" ... in walks Fergie

I know it’s not but it is for me. Finally made the pilgrimage over for my 50th. Off to the Ullevi stadium in the morning, to try and recreate Hewitts winner. There doesn’t seem to be an official tour but ill chap the door and ask

I don’t know what you’re all moaning about, the weather is lovely

Whole place is locked up due to the Swedish women’s team training there. We snuck in but they chucked us out before we got to the pitch. Weather is still lovely

Still the last team to beat Real in Euro final, incredible. Happy Gothenburg abdy and this thread always reminds me of too early departed Donsdaft. He was.

It took the Hun Broadcasting Service long enough, but they've finally put up the highlights from anti-Gothenburg Day 35 years ago.

I hinna watched it.

Ah've already posted on Abmad .... but Ah'll  stick it doon here ... On May 11 1983 Ah wis at the 'Techy College' on a non certificate Electronics college course (night classes) .... tae up ma future employment prospects.

There Ah wiz .... solderin' up a fkn basic square wave oscillator ..... somethin Ah can jist aboot dae in ma sleep! ....

The guy tae ma left had a funcy watch ... it's 1983! .... so nae a smart watch! ... but it gets radio via an ear-piece! .... holy fuck! ... modern technology or fit??

He announces we're 1-0 up .... Yass!

He later announces it's 1-1  ... Ach weel, 'at;s 'at ... we're surely fucked.

And so the college course winds up, Ah get the bus hame ... or at least tae ma girlfriends hoose ..... Ah ask her (politely) tae get the telly on ( actually it was already on but needed the channel changed ) ..... and there it is! The fkn Dons hae won the fkn European fkn Cup fkn Winners fkn Cup!!!l

Masel an' said girlfriend 'generally' shagged every night an' every mornin .... but .... Ah had some good stash o' McEwans Export an' some home brew set aside for the celebration (or the sorrow-drown).... so ... nae bed-time shag, nae pre-breakfast shag ... Therefore my evaluation o' the The Dons CWC victory is hereby estimated as better than 2 shags!! :D  ...... better than 2 simultaneous shags even :D  Ah .... fond memories fae hame :D

Wi' reference tae the above .... Ah suppose, noo in ma aulder years, Ah should dedicate every shagless day tae the glorious memory o' the Dons' finest moment :D

Anyone else got one of these? I decided on 7 May 1983 that my then current shirt was getting threadbare, and headed for Simpsons Sports for a replacement for the trip.

“We’ve got a box of new eens just in,” quoth the quine in the shop, “Wid ye like een o them?”

A rarity, apparently, the only difference from the sark worn by the Dons squad on the night is that the embroidered occasion is a neat straight line rather than the shape of ex-Maroon Rougvie’s angelic smile.

The mini-replica ECWC is a Dolly Digital commemorative artefact.IMG_8877.thumb.jpeg.7e7e483ad2396819938d73361d30f534.jpeg

We’re having a clear-out currently, and I may put it on the market, but very unwillingly.

I stupidly bought a programme in Spanish. It is in a box somewhere. I saved my travel itinery though and the great John McMaster signed it at the night out at the Rock

I had the programme.

Ticket stub, boarding pass and book of matches from the St. Clair and a whole lot of other 'merch' and memorabilia.

On my mother's passing I cleared my parent's house to discover it had all been turfed.

Yet the cupboards contained tins of peaches older than me and a shoebox of pre decimal currency and premium bonds.

My old man did loan me the money for the trip but I don't think he told my ma!
