On Saturday 27th June, Aberdeen start their pre-season warm up by getting the bus down to the Balmoral Stadium to take on Cove Rangers.

Hopefully the new signings get a run-out and we win 2-0.

Interesting that the choice of captains has been Lyons and Devlin. 

It's a bit early to be stressing about it, but I don't like the thought of Devlin as captain and hope this isn't him bring considered to replace Shinnie. Firstly because I think his better days are behind him and he shouldn't be starting every week, and also because it's keeping Lobban out of the team.

Robinson talked about 4-5 leaders doing different things for the club. He said shinnie did them all as captain but he prefers multiple leaders. Ultimately, if we are winning, does it matter who wears the armband?

Except we're not 'winning'. It's a pre-season friendly following a poor season, and we'll spend the next few weeks discussing who should be in the team this season.

Given how rare the were last season, lets take the positive out of this afternoon

Both AFC defence line ups were ok.  Bilalovic and Kjartanson not good enough.  Didn't notice Palavers or Milanovic.  Marshall, Briedl, Lyon and Aremu were ok.  Armstrong was technically best player on the park, as he should be.  When Yogane and Olusanya went off we never got a cross in.  Mercer at left back was a stand out, very fast and a solid tackler.  Oh, and the pie hut queue was unacceptable at this level.

I know your love for him is close to Orlando Dons' hero status for Allan Campbell.

But if we have any ambition to be a serious football club next season, then no.

I'd give it to Lyall Cameron when he comes back on loan.

Devlin as vice captain is fine.

Not sure who gets the armband as long as it is nae some cunt that comes in on loan

I did think we looked fairly well drilled today in a 433 today but other than that there's not much you could really take from it.
