Anyone else going to get involved #swapsies? First dons related observation is no Luis Lopes in the Cape Verde squad Nope, but I did get a panini sticker collection book, covering the years 1977 to 1985, for Xmas and it is ace. It is off the scale how old certain players looked back in the day. Ernie McGarr, a goalkeeper for Airdrie, looked about 60 and was only 25. I don't think I ever collected the WC stickers, as afraid I have never been big into international fitba. 1 Quote
BigAl Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago World Cup stickers, a poor relation to collectable items of yester years Somewhere in my loft, I still possess the entire Esso 1970 World Cup coin collection. These were given away with petrol purchases and no, before some smart arse suggests it, even I wasn't old enough to drive then 1 Quote
swaddon Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago I'm guessing it's about £10 for a pack of stickers these days. 1 Quote
Jute Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago I had the sticker books from 78 to 86 and bought my brother the 90 one and my nephew the 98 one so I could secretly keep doing them. Not be doing it this time as daughter said she would rather I just gave her the money. 1 Quote
Jupiter Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago You can do it for free on the internet https://paninicollection.fifa.com/game/flash Quote

It’s strange that I can remember the Peter Shirtliff sticker clear as day, yet struggle with what happened yesterday 1 Quote

Frightening how much of the stickers and books I remembered. For some reason, it was always Man City players that I remember most from them. Steve McKenzie. Paul Power, Joe Corrigan, Tommy Caton, Tommy Hutchison and on and on Would struggle to name a current Man City player, but well versed on the early to mid 80s ones. Quote
Mason89 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago I loved Man City back when they were a football club. It’s a crying shame what happened to them Quote

He said to me not so long ago that you can get a bit bored of success but there's has been some epic moments along the way. 1 Quote
