Ticket postage costs

I'm fully aware I'm getting more cranky with each birthday that passes by but surely my latest peave is justified.

Went to get a ticket for the Livingston Friday night game.  £3.50 to have it posted or £2.50 to collect it from Pittodrie.

No thanks.

I think you're fully justified. The club talk about "loyal fans" a lot, but they have been at it for years in trying to skim as much cream off the top as they can.

Not looked at Hearts' season ticket prices for next season yet, but they were on average £150 cheaper than us this season. In addition, previously when we've had European qualifiers, we've often been more expensive than other clubs.

100% on the money.

They wanted £10 for a physical season ticket.

Told them I wasn't renewing, so they waived the charge.

The club take the piss nowadays. All take and no give.

I can understand them charging for postage, but not for collecting it from the same place (I assume) that it's posted from.

It would be if it guarantees delivery.

Our post down here is absolute shit. No delivery for days on end, sometimes up to a fortnight and then have an Amazonian Rain Forest in a oner.

Last time I collected a ticket before the game, I had to collect it from a kiosk beside South Stand Section Y entrance which was annoying as I was sitting in RDS and parked on the Beach Esplanade. To top it off, they hadn’t actually even printed it off and I ended up missing the first 10 minutes of the match as there was about 20-odd people with the same problem.

I'm rarely down at the RDS part of the ground, but assuming the old place where you used to get tickets is no more?

Did you get offered a drink voucher or anything for the delay?

Assume this is the club ‘penalising’ (and grifting at the same time) anyone who doesn’t go fully digital? I still get my paper ticket posted, do they offer a digital match ticket?

Digital options for home games, although I think even that is a quid.  This away game only had post or collection options available.

I get my away tickets from Jute in the pub. FOC. Although there is often a human cost to us collectively moaning for 3 hours while drinking lager.

I think it's scandalous that you have to pay for the privilege of physically going to collect it. Where do all these £2.50's go to? Office staff Christmas night out. Farcical.

Well they do have to hire at least one person to work at the collection point for a couple of hours each game. It's maybe not £2.50 per ticket but it's not free either.
